Like Gambit and New Mutants. It's annoying that they still talk about it as if it's going to happen. Who are they talking about it too? The GA is totally unaware, and people who pay attention aren't really being fooled because they've delayed it and pushed it back twice now.
As for the footage, I liked the trailer. They've made the movie, I'm sure it's close to being finished. I'd like to just see the dang thing.

I thought the trailer was fine and still want to see it too, since I want to see how they go out with the franchise. I'm half expecting it to be moved to Netflix or Disney's streaming service though. I mean, if they release it in theaters and does bad, it could blow back on Disney and hurt the brand, even if Marvel isn't involved; a good chunk of people already don't care since they know a reboot's coming anyway.

Maybe it's because they practically spoiled the big death at the beginning (even though it was apparent before), but I think this trailer knocked my expectations lower than before.

Honestly a better trailer than I thought I'd see for this movie, but I'm still not excited at all.

Alternate (The Good One) Trailer + Follow Up Commentary
This trailer is so much better than the last one. Honestly, if they had held off on releasing a teaser and the first trailer to release on Feb. 28th, I think this one would have received a much better reaction. Already, I'm loving the music, the look of the special effects, and the portrayal of their powers. Do I think the film will be great? No, but it could still be entertaining. I enjoyed X-Men Apocalypse. At this point, I'd settle for that. I don't know about Sophie Turner's acting in this one though. One of my favorite moments in the trailer is when she exits the plane after absorbing the Phoenix force. The look on everyone's faces just seems to indicate that they were going for a different feel than anything we've seen from the franchise before.

Glad you're excited, Excellent! I personally don't share the sentiment about X-Men: Apoclaypse, unfortunately. I didn't enjoy it one bit. Even movies like BvS and Suicide Squad were more enjoyable in a "WTF am I even watching?" kind of way. In my view, Apocalypse was both bad, like the aforementioned DCEU installments, and unengaging, like, say, Thor 2. The worst of both worlds! I guess that's the main reason I'm personally not excited about Dark Phoenix.

Well, it's not as bad as Last Stand and Wolverine Origins. It hits a lot of the same beats as Last Stand, but there's a lot more emotional resonance to it by comparison. The train fight also has a lot of cool moments. However, it doesn't really serve as a real conclusion to the series since there are plotpoints that would have seemed to be explored in future sequels. Honestly, with the exception of Matthew Vaughn, no other X-Men director has been able to capture the flare Bryan Singer brought. In conclusion, we don't really end on a bang or a whimper. We just end.

Sad to hear it ends that way, but I guess we all saw it coming. I have to disagree about Bryan Singer though. In my opinion, he didn't direct any of the good X-Men movies (X-Men: First Class, The Wolverine, and Logan), Matthew Vaughn and James Mangold did.

To clarify, I was just counting the core X-Men movies. I do give props to Mangold for his Wolverine movies.

This may be the first X-Men film I don't get to see in theaters. I mean, I wanted to check it out on like a Tuesday, discount days at the theater where I live but it barely lasted 1 week. I could travel to see it, but why? Unfortunately, that's where I'm at with this one.

Welcome back Excellent!
And yeah, that's kinda sad, but I totally get it. I didn't get to see it and am not intending on seeing it either.
