Between this and Thor: Love and Thunder, I don't know which has me more excited. I'm going to say this one for now, but it's close. I'm very excited at the prospect that this will be the MCU's first scary movie. As a side note, this leads me to believe further that they won't give New Mutants a theatrical release. Anywho, I'm all for it being scary, but I was hoping that the next Dr. Strange movie would be the one they said was weird. Like, the weirdest of all. It's all in the name, Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. Best title ever, right? It's interesting, Wanda Vision is going to directly tie into this? I feel that this will probably take place before Wanda Vision, even though it's releasing afterward.

screenrant.com/doctor-strange-director-shares-comic-panel-multiverse-infinity/I love this, especially as a math nerd who teaches math to middle schoolers. If I may push my spectacles up my nose a bit, I must say that the panel should say "There are twice as many Integers (whole numbers and their negative counterparts)". Then again, that doesn't sound as cool and it's a bit choppy, haha. The reality is between any two numbers, there is an infinite amount of numbers. As you all know, 2.001 and 2.002 have an infinite amount of numbers between them: 2.0011, 2.00111, 2.001111... that could go on forever before we even f*** with 2.0012 *haha!*

Sam Raimi Returns??? www.comicbookmovie.com/doctor_strange/in_the_multiverse_of_madness/former-doctor-strange-2-director-scott-derrickson-endorses-sam-raimi-as-his-replacement-a173114So apparently Marvel has Sam Raimi on tap. I'll admit that Derrickson's departure put a serious damper on my anticipation for the film. It was to the point of even sullying my anticipation for WandaVision, even with its exciting 10 seconds* of fame amongst the other Superbowl tv spots. That said, although Waititi's "Thor: Love and Thunder" became my new most anticipated phase 4 film, Raimi at the helm puts it at a tie (as Jeff Goldblum's Grandmaster would say) . The only thing that bothers me about this is that they went and got another horror director to do this film. Like, how are we supposed to believe Raimi will be able to execute an amazing take on the material when he'll be given the same time constraint? Derrickson had much longer to mull over the material. To that end, I feel that if we're getting Raimi, I want to get the full Raimi treatment, and I don't know that he's going to be able to provide that. At the end of the day, I just wish they'd given Derrickson more time, but it will be nice to make bold predictions about a Sam Raimi lead Marvel film again. Never thought I'd see the day, and all worries aside, this makes me smile *This is funny, yet I don't even mean it in a silly way.

I'm just hoping with all the changes and chaos we still end up with a good movie. One concern a buddy of mine expressed is that the plot thread with Mordo will go the way of The Leader in Incredible Hulk if they're not careful. I'm hoping he's an important part of this movie and isn't overlooked and the script is a good continuation

I have a feeling that he will be overlooked. Then again, we might have a 2 vs. 2 situation where Strange battle Mordo and Wanda battles some extra dimensional or multiversal being.

Not too bad. I have to say, it is becoming more clear to me now that the reason for Derrickson leaving wasn't just scheduling. There's been evidence pointing to that ever since the announcement that he was out, but with the film being pushed back a whole 6 months, if it was only about deadlines, why wouldn't they opt to go back with him? It'd be an inconvenience to Raimi sure, but totally understandable. This version of Strange is very much Derrickson, but I digress. If anything, this gives Raimi more time to bring his vision forward in the best possible way.

Interesting. Hopefully we can still get some Disney+ content by the end of this year.

Sam Raimi is responsible for The Evil Dead, Army of Darkness, and Spider-Man 2 which are highly ranked in my all time favorite films list so I have full faith in him.
