very very good movie. i thought for the most part it had an excellent pace. only one issue with the stop at the Black Family Mansion. if you didn't know any better it'd seem very random where they went to.
but other then that it was perfect with its progression. felt just like the book. and it also kept a good emotional pace. with the very desperate feel perked up not just with some funny lines, but generally happy moments.
like the harry and hermione dance.
there were slow parts, but that was what the book was and it was all about the emotional telling of the story. and you need these dull almost hopeless moments.
a few parts i was a bit unhappy not to see in the movie. like the line in the book when they are at Godrick Hallow. when Harry realizes this place is named after Godrick Griffendore
that was one of the funniest moments in the book.
and also that Ron didn't mention the name voldemort being not cursed but was it charmed? idk if that will come into play later. but i thought that was a more genius moment on voldemort's part. obviously those most threatening to him would dare say his name.
it may come into play in Part 2.
going to back what i liked.
i really liked the opening scenes. the transport scene was epic. it really gave an incredible scope to the war.
the intensity of everything. this film is incredible dark and it was highly enjoyable.
it looked great. the action was great.
the acting was great.
malfoy manor felt just like the book. and idk if this was focused in the book, but i especially liked how desparate the malfoy family was.
bellatrix and her torturing of hermione was especially unnerving.
Dobby was just hilarious in this movie. which makes it especially sad that he died.
i honestly didn't remember him in the book. idk why.
in the end this movie had a great balance of very dark and desolate and genuine character moments that ranged from happy and hilarious to quite sad.
the ended at the right moment i think. but it felt very like a Part 1. i don't hold that against it.
but still for a movie half done essentially i give it a 9/10
