Has anyone played Sonic Mega Collection Plus? I own it and its a great collection of some of Sonic's best games. It's on the PS2, the old X Box and PC.

I didn't buy it, but I sure tried it. It's pretty cool, but since all of the games on it can basically be emulated for free, I don't think it's a must. I have to admit by the time it came out though, emulators weren't as advanced so it maybe was worth it. Just not... Anymore.

Just came out for the iPhone and iPod Touch... I heard it was pretty great, but I don't own any Apple handheld console, so I didn't try it out yet.

I got it on my I Pod. It's pretty cool. Apparently it will cost 1500 points on Wii-Ware.

Just beaten it on the PS3. It's pretty amazing.
Biggest pros: 1. Level design - Amazing level designs with several paths, various ways to clear each ones, and, well, in sum, they're very fun and varied. 2. Facial expressions - Robotnik's face is somewhat funny, but Sonic's unbeatable. I love how he has a big dumb grin on his face all the time, even when he dies. Has me having the same dumb grin as I go through the levels. 3. Replay value - I think I'll play this game a lot, or, at least beat it at 100%.
Biggest cons: 1. Flashy graphics - Yeah, it's pretty beautiful of a game, but it took awhile for my eyes to get used to the 1080p fluorescent colours. At first, I almost felt dizzy, and when I shut it down, I almost felt colour blind. 2. Lack of rings - Don't get me wrong, rings are all over the place, it's just that sometimes, I'd like to have some in the middle of a boss battle (especially the last one). It's when they're the most needed that they're absent. 3. Short - Going through it once is pretty short. It took me 1 hour and a half to go through it once, and I did nothing that looked like a speedrun.
That's pretty much all I have to say... For now. Bring it on Super Sonic, I'm coming!

I tried to get the golden trophy for over 3 hours and a half today and failed. I know exactly what to do and how to do it and it isn't that hard. It's just that I can't do it one shot. Grrr... If you miss a tiny detail, you have to start aaaaaaaaall over again.

Fans have been making a new Sonic game. It looks outstanding! Sega's been trying to remove it because they're afraid it could outmatch their beloved Sonic 4. I think they suck for this. I mean, just check out the trailer: How sweet is that? The demo's available for downlaod on the official site of the game: sonicfanremix.com/So I just went through it (the demo). It had 3 acts but no boss fight. The thing this game did best was reminding me how sucky my graphic card is. I put it on the lowest resolution and suckiest settings and it still was laggy as hell. Nevertheless, I'll try to do a fair comparison with Sonic 4. The fan made game has much better music. They didn't limit themselves to old technologies just for the sake of being 'retro.' The visuals look great, but honestly, so did Sonic 4's, so I'd say they're on par. The physics are much better as well: rings aren't floaty and Sonic accelerates pretty quickly. On the other hand, Sonic 4 has way better level designs. This new one was basically just moving forward and killing enemies. No obstacles of any kind. Sonic 4 has the new Homing Attack feature which came in real handy during the game and brought a whole new dimension to it. This fan made game was basically Sonic 1 with newer visuals and music. It lacked something fresh whatsoever. But for a fanmade game, it completely destroys Sonic 4. That's pretty much all I have to say. Try the demo, seriously. It takes less than 5 minutes to download and, in my opinion, it's worth the shot. Let me know what you think and whether you agree or disagree with whatever I said.

I'm not surprised Sega is trying to remove it because it is a really good demo.
