no these filmmakers are terrible. parody/satire movies can be one of the funniest movies out there. i watched a review of vampire sucks and the main reason why this movie and all the other spoof movies done by these guys sucks is that they have not a single drop of intelligence in its jokes.
a real movie parody doesn't consist of "oh look its that character from that movie that we are making fun of and oh look he got hit by something"
thats the comedic genius of these movies.

I didn't say parody movies suck, I said "these" parody movies suck, referring to the ones made by these film makers. I guess i could've been a bit more specific

i highly recommend Airplane its considered one of the funniest if not the funniest movie ever made.
also tropic thunder is also considered a parody, but it has a lot of satire in it as well.
epic, date, meet the spartans, disaster movie, and now vampire sucks all made by the same guys. and they are the worst people in hollywood right now. the fact that they still have a job gives them that award

the reason tropic thunder and airplane will be funny for a long time is because unlike other parodies they don't parody specific movies they make fun of the genre and its clichés
tropic thunder spoofed war movies and hollywood itself
airplane was made in a time where airplane disaster movies were a dime a dozen. pretty much everyone casted in Airplane! was a notable serious actor.
even though you probably wont' know the references in the movie it'll still be hilarious because many of the jokes are timeless.

critics are hating themselves for finding a few jokes chuckle worthy... it means they are improving.

^ Thats been removed now. This is the movies poster: Its like a two year old did it on paint. On tomatometer it is now 3% with one good review from someone on the LA Times: "Surprise! "Vampires Suck," actually doesn't. The parody of the first two "Twilight" movies is the usual mixed bag of hits and misses, but with more hits than expected. For those who can't get enough of photogenic teen vampires and werewolves, consider this another helping, albeit basted in mockery. For those who were dragged to those movies, at least here the two are compressed into one 82-minute sulk-and-bite fest. Plenty of gags fall flat, but writer-directors Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, due credit or blame for many recent spoofs ("Date Movie," "Epic Movie," etc.), have tapped the vein more effectively than their norm, with enjoyable details and on-the-mark senseless brutality. Even its slack pacing — it often feels as if it's holding for laughs — recalls its sources. Moody teen Becca (newcomer Jenn Proske) drives into Sporks, Wash., listening to anguished emo: "Nobody gets me …" The filmmakers ape the series' style and even skewer its protagonist's lack of personality: Becca declares she's "humorless," and a jock pops up with, "Damn, girl, you seem really boring and frigid; you want to go to the prom?" Then she meets Edward Sullen (Matt Lanter), and it's all fangs and angst. Proske nails her Kristen Stewart mimicry down to the lower-lip bite and throws a fine forest-floor tantrum. She may be the film's strongest suit, but its trump card is Ken Jeong in Volturi drag; the "Hangover" and "Community" star has reached the level of getting laughs just for showing up. The hair and makeup departments do yeoman's work — "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson has quipped that most of his performance is the hair; the effectiveness of Lanter's gloomy parody makes that seem less of a joke." The comments below the review were: 1. "Surprise! You're an awful reviewer!" 2. "Dude, how many times did you go to the snack bar because you didn't spend much time watching this flick or wandered into the wrong theater. Your review is so far off the mark I'm wondering if you might need to look for another career." 3. "Clearly Michael (the reviewer) you have no business reviewing any type of film. I bet if somebody in your office farts you probably roll over laughing hysterically for 30 minutes while your peers question your mental competence. If I were to take my 12 year old niece (the target demographic) she would probably never speak to me again for insulting her intelligence. I will never take another review from the LA Times seriously until you either hand in your resignation or somebody realizes what a mistake it was to hire you and shows you the door. With unemployment where it is today, I'm fairly certain they can find somebody that knows the difference between entertainment and pure crap."
