Deadline has learned that Arnold Schwarzenegger and "Terminator" rights owner Megan Ellison are planning to shoot two "Terminator" films and are aiming to place the first one into production in the fourth quarter of 2012.
The decision forced director Justin Lin (Fast Five) to drop out, despite being involved with the project for many months. Lin will be busy directing the sixth "Fast and the Furious" installment, but is willing to helm "The Terminator" films if Schwarzenegger and Ellison can push production start date until he becomes available.
At this point, it may be difficult to get the film into production by the end of 2012, since there is still no screenwriter on board and no studio partner. James Cameron, however, has been involved in crafting the story. It's still unclear whether he'll decide to executive produce. www.worstpreviews.com/headline.php?id=22894&count=0#ixzz1Ya3nGqTO

Plot details: popwatch.ew.com/2014/10/29/this-weeks-cover-first-look-at-terminator-genisys/Its essentially sounds like a reboot which follows the same story from the first film. The major difference is that the T-800 adopts Sarah Connor at a young age and raises her. Its name is 'Pops'. The T-800 told Sarah about her destiny. Naturally she rejects her destiny. On a related note, Paramount have removed leaked images and a script summary from the SHH forums. Apparently there is a major plot twist involving John Connor.

A review of the screenplay (minor spoilers): www.manlymovie.net/2015/01/review-terminator-genisys-2015-screenplay.htmlSummary of the review: - The movie is apparently trying to attract the Transformers crowd. - The screenplay completely disregards previously established lore. - The characterization of the T-800 is totally off the mark. - The action is uninspired and goes on for far too long. - The aforementioned John Connor twist is apparently awful. - 2/10.

It all sounds very confusing to me. The way it played out in the trailer, it seems like it could very easily go along with the first two movies, but in the form of an alternate timeline. A Terminator is sent back and raises Sarah Connor, so that when Kyle Reese comes back to help her, she's already prepared. This is almost like a way of the series rebooting itself from the inside, which I find clever. It kind of reminds me of how time travel explained the Star Trek reboot. If the way I just explained it isn't how it's gonna work, then I'm lost lol
