are their alternate endings? There are 3 and it's impossible to get the best ending unless you play multiplayer so you can increase your effective military strength to over 5000 which is impossible in single player because I did all the N7 missions and could only manage just over 4000. Rant (mild spoilers ahead): So I just played the entire series believing the Reapers are all-consuming devil-monsters only to have the series end with a nice chat between Shepard and that annoying kid in the demo? I've had playthroughs in Mass Effect 2 where Shep's love interest died, and Shep barely blinks an eye. Yet the strange kid haunts his dreams? It just felt very forced. The Normandy crew gets stranded on some random world without tech, Shepard will never see them again and the galaxy by large is completely fucked for the next 200,000 years or so without any kind of good tech. After so many years of giving us control, Bioware jerked it away from us at the end just to force us to get a "bittersweet" ending. Is it too much to have a happy ending? Garrus and Femshep were already planning to make babies but now that will never happen! Letting the Reapers win would be a better ending compared to the crap they gave us. The ending left me feeling depressed. Bottom line: Unless Bioware release DLC explaining (or even change) the ending then they will lose a lot of customers including me. Part of me feels like such an idiot that I went to the midnight opening and started playing Mass Effect 3 at 1am in the morning. I was so pumped to finish the adventure and destroy those pesky Reapers, but after that horrible ending... I don't think I can't even possibly drag my ManShep through that experence... Meanwhile at EA...

I've been playing the game since Friday, been having a lot of fun with it so far. And I seriously don't mind doing the multiplayer to increase my single-player chances, as the multiplayer is so far plenty of fun from the brief time I've given it

So other than the ending, terrific game, should be a strong contender for GOTY: 9.5/10 --------------------------- Producer Michael Gamble has posted this on twitter: "Hardest. Day. Ever. Seriously, if you people knew all the stuff we are planning...you'd, we'll - hold onto your copy of me3 forever." The same person who said before ME3’s release: “There are many different endings. We wouldn’t do it any other way. How could you go through all three campaigns playing as your Shepard and then be forced into a bespoke ending that everyone gets?”

Casey Hudson: What are your thoughts on the reaction to the game’s endings?I didn’t want the game to be forgettable, and even right down to the sort of polarizing reaction that the ends have had with people–debating what the endings mean and what’s going to happen next, and what situation are the characters left in. That to me is part of what’s exciting about this story. There has always been a little bit of mystery there and a little bit of interpretation, and it’s a story that people can talk about after the fact. I think Bioware has been indoctrinated.... ------------- Meanwhile fans have donated over $26,000 to the Child's Play charity to get Bioware's attention: retakemasseffect.chipin.com/retake-mass-effect-childs-play

R.I.P. Marauder Shields-2186-2186. He isn't the hero the Reapers want, he is the hero they deserve. He died trying to protect the player from Casper. ------------- Bioware will be making a statement regarding the ending soon: social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/355/index/9992961

I just finished the quarian missions. I have Shepard with a relationship with Tali and mixed with that and giving back her world the picture of how she looks unmasked is actually really sweet. I would like to really see her, but still it works for me.

So have you played any of the previous games or are you starting with 3?

bought ME2 last last Sunday and beat it this past Saturday. I bought ME3 Sunday and have played around 15/16 hours since then. Some of these decisions are driving me crazy in ME3. Even if it doesn't change anything choosing to stop Legion really bothered me. Did you stop Legion from upgrading the Geth?

Even if it doesn't change anything choosing to stop Legion really bothered me. Did you stop Legion from upgrading the Geth? In my playthrough depending on what decisions I made in ME2, completing the side-missions on Rannoch, plus my Femshep's paragon/renegade count, I was able to convince the Quarians and the Geth to work together, so Legion did upload the Reaper code but he died doing it. But in doing so, it gave me a shitload of war assets.

i looked up the alternate any way and while I should have known paragon decisions always seem to end well I am content with my choice.
looking at the video I never had the paragon choice at all. I had a high paragon rating what choice did i make that removed the option?

No use complaining about a done deal. It ended relatively the same either way. As I said I am content and still am.

The way it works (or the way Bioware have explained it) is that there is a point system regarding decisions you made.
Mass Effect 2 Decisions: Get Tali is exonerated at her trial. (eg NOT exiled) = 2 points Destroy the heretics. = 2 points Resolving the Tali/Legion conflict with a renegade or paragon solution. = 1 point
Mass Effect 3 Decisions: Rannoch: Destroy the Geth squadron fighter base on Rannoch = 1 point Rannoch: Save the Admiral = 1 point
You need 5 points to get the peaceful options. You must also complete Legion's Mission in ME3 and you need a high reputation to get the Paragon/Renegade options to appear.

Oh and I forgot to mention... Side with Admiral Han Gerrel when he is arguing with Admiral Ran on the Normandy over the radio about their portions of the fleet and side with Tali when Admiral Xen wants to use some of the fleet to go through a Geth debris field for tech instead of saving escape pods.
And that is basically it I think.

ah, i only had 3 points. I wanted to play both sides and ended up without the best solution. Narratively I actually, don't want to say enjoyed, but prefer regrettably killing Legion (Tali technically did it to save Shep) because it had that right mixture of bittersweet with not only his death but the manner of it and Legion's question being answered all the same. Only thing that didn't work for the narrative was that I basically went back on the mission to destroy the base, which basically gave me Geth Allegiance. The best solution wasn't an option case closed
