PAX East news:
Regarding the endings: They said they wouldn't change it because they're proud of the product they released.
Extended Cut:
"Currently building it right now, cinematics team and writers heavily involved, working on it."
Explaination for Tali's photo shopped face:
"We often use source material, source art, for MANY things withing the game -- wanted it to be photorealistic, high fidelity, correct color -- as close to a picture as possible. Pored through thousands of images to combine extisting image and artistic vision to create Tali's face. "
Regarding the IT:
"The indoctrination theory illustrates again how, um, committed the fanbase is..." don't want to comment either way. Don't want to be prescriprive -- fans interpret their own way, plus DLC coming. "We want the content to speak for itself, and we'll let it do so."
Now the questions...
What happens to everyone on the Citadel when it's moved?
"One of the things in the citadel codex is that anyplace -inside- the citadel has emergency seals, and some exterior areas have emergency seals that can keep atmosphere in. Even if the Citadel is destroyed (which it may or may not be in ending), "is not like the entire things blow up." People on (in) the arms may well still be alive. No reason to assume 100% casualties."
Vague comment about withstanding all forms of criticism, not just constructive -- something artistic / developer integrity.
"Whenever you create a piece of art, you're never going to have everyone happy." constructive over beliggerent -- want ways to improve and make things better. "If you didn't like the ending, you're entirely okay not to like the ending" Constructive helps them make the game BETTER, and they want feedback they can take action on.
Who are the tentacle-faced statues on Ilos?? "Are those protheans? Because Javik..."
Answer:
KCox: A: "so, we've potentially contradicted ourselves here..." But civilization could be the one, mentioned on Ilos, that had the planet before the protheans did.
"IF you could throw one character other than Shep into the synthesis ending, who would it be?"
"Marauder shields! Also Conrad [verner]. "He deserves it."
What if the Protheans hadn't uplifted the Asari?
Answer: "The Salarians might have been the first to the Citadel."
The rest:
Bioware seems to be complaining that ME3 was so hard to develop and from what I can tell is basically using that argument I guess get away with some of the poor closures and plotholes.
And thats it... no really... that's it.
People have already began to accuse BioWare of planted questions and it's hard to disagree with them. The last question was regarding Shepard's facial expressions! Really? Someone actually cares about that and not the plotholes or the EMS debarcle?
Retake ME3 will be making an official statement soon, BioWare's forums are going loco.
