The teaser was OK. Perhaps a little underwhelming compared to previous Marvel teasers.

Yeah, I think people were hoping for something funny. With other characters like Thor, Captain America, even Iron Man, fans tend to complain that the tone is never quite serious enough (no one is saying that anymore about Cap anyway). Ant Man had Edgar Wright, and even though there have been rewrites, I think people wanted it to retain whatever humor he had injected into it. Then Marvel, famous for its special brand of movie fun, goes and releases a serious trailer. That said, people have been having fun with it, and someone came up with this:

Now THAT'S a trailer. If you told me say 10 years ago that I'd be excited for an Ant-Man movie, I'd say you were nuts.

Yeah, that looks like a lot of fun. Definitely excited for it now. Visually, it's going to be pretty unique for the genre. Loved the gag at the end too.

I'm quietly excited for this. The humor in the trailers is really working for me, and I'm ready to see them do some cool stuff with proportions and stuff.

While it pulled in a cool $58 million, the studios 2nd lowest outing, it's also Marvel's least expensive effort to date. It cost them $130 million to produce, making it cheaper than even Iron Man. I've been reading a lot of articles on the subject, and apparently Marvel's Antman not setting the box office on fire isn't a bad thing. If anything it's a palette cleanser that'll help people readjust their expectations, something to break up the back to back Avengers movies (which is what Civil War is now). In its own regard, the movie is still going to turn a nice profit because they were good about not blowing a ton of money on it. Although I will say, for another 10 to 15 million they could've done some more weird things with the microverse stuff and still had a relatively inexpensive movie on their hands. I don't know a single person who has seen the movie that wasn't elated with the the film's last half hour. That stuff might have been sprinkled throughout the movie a little more evenly, but I digress.
I really have enjoyed the latest tv trailers for this movie. They have nothing to do with the film itself. Funny enough, it's now at 80% at rottentomatoes.
It's so on right now! tv spot
