He's been around for 56 years, he's the king of the monsters, it's GODZILLA!!! Discuss all the movies from the 1954 original to the Final Wars of 2004, and yes that's including the American one. Speaking of, Legendary Pictures is at work to make another American Godzilla film. Yeah I know, they didn't learn the first time right? But THIS is what Godzilla could look like: www.joblo.com/arrow/index.php?id=23289OH FUCK YEAH! See, that's what we should have got in '98. More on the new movie as it develops, but discuss everything of the G-man here.

well at least one godzilla fanboy is happy. people should lighten up. this looks awesome.
but this weird fanboy had to find something wrong with it. know what his complaint was? "he looks too scary"
are you fucking kidding me?
the guy had at least one good point. that godzilla is only good as a nostalgic sort of thing. the idea of godzilla. a giant lizard monster with a super flame breath that may destroy or save tokyo. its awesome, but in reality the movies are god awful.
its as corny as can be. some of the worst acting ever. and the worst effects ever. its sort of enjoyable in an odd way, but why expect so much from this guy.

I like Godzilla, including the '98 one. Also, Godzilla vs. King Kong was, I believe, the first movie to feature alternate outcomes and maybe even the first with two different endings. In one version, King Kong won. In the other, Godzilla won. But I have yet to see it. I have seen the original and many others. I think the message it sends is positive: just because you don't care about the nuclear radiation out in the ocean, doesn't mean nature won't come and whup your human azzes for it. =)

Nothing about a new movie, but I've been watching the Heisei film series over the last week, from Godzilla 1985 to Godzilla vs. Destroyah. It had been a long time since I watched them, but it's definitely my favorite era of Godzilla films. My favorite was probably Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah. One of my favorite aspects of the series was the development of Godzilla Junior. I wish they would have continued the series from after he became a full-grown Godzilla at the end of the Destroyah film. I'm probably gonna go back to watch the original '56 Godzilla and '64 Godzilla vs. Mothra films now.

Footage description: "We see huge black clouds, massive smoke, and slowly it clears away revealing a ruined city. There are hundreds of crashed cars and rubble — buildings are broken in half and people are crawling over the sideways ruins of buildings. Some buildings have had massive chunks torn out of the middle of them, like when a cartoon character runs through a wall. We see the side of something huge, like a mountain. We only slowly realize it's actually a monster. There is something like lava running down the side of it. And then there are huge CLAWS. The monnster is laying on its side. There is a huge Godzilla scream! Like a massive trumpet sounding! And then Godzilla is rampaging through the city, trashing buildings with its huge claw. Buildings collapse. THOOM. A giant arm swipes across the city and everything crashes. We see its massive spiky back and then the trademark face. The monster opens its mouth and SCREAMS." - io9.com
