the movie just killed the GL brand publicly and the show just wasn't strong enough to even bring together the comic book fans.

Another finale that hit me in the feels. SPOILERS ON! It was hard enough to watch Aya die once, but even more this time.
The Blue Lantern ring at the end was a nice touch. "All will be well." Overall, I think it ended on a good note. Worthy of a series finale.

I'm currently on episode 10. Darn good show, I'm surprised. I had absolutely no interest in it when it debuted, though I never really gave it a chance. Is the show accurate to the comic mythos? If so, I can understand why a Green Lantern movie would be so hard to pull off in live action. The Green Lantern stuff is hard enough to swallow, but the purple lantern shit is just ridiculous. The way it's depicted in the show I mean; it's way too heavy handed on the gender role stuff. Lots of cringing there. Back to the positives, overall I'm enjoying this more than Young Justice. I'm only 4 episodes in on that though.

the movie just killed the GL brand publicly and the show just wasn't strong enough to even bring together the comic book fans. I know I said what I said about the cringe worthy moments, but all things considered, I think it's one of the best superhero cartoon shows that has come out in years. I've missed out on Teen Titans, but aside from that I think I've caught up. Point I'm trying to make is that I don't think the strength of the show was a factor in it not getting renewed. My opinion of the show is that of an outsider. I guess I'm not quite a member of the G.A., but I'm also not someone who is versed in the comic book lore. Just going off of the show's writing and overall animation however, I've had a complete change of heart. Season 1 ended with a hell of a bang, and there was a nice pay off for several of the show's characters. The writers did well by taking their time to set up the characters. In doing so they planted the seeds for their development to have a meaningful impact in the season's finale. My netflix is set up weird because it's listing all 26 episodes as season 1, but I'm currently on the episode "Reboot", or ep. 14. So far, the show is going in a nice new direction.
