Oh yeah, Cupid De Locke is really good too. I could analyze that into ground too but, I'll refrain from doing so aha I will say that it has some really interesting background stuff going on like, part of the rhythm is a pair of scissors snipping. I've always loved found object stuff like that.

When you wrote that, I immediately thought of Coco Rosie's song By Your Side. This buddy of mine shared them with me back in 2008, and though I've never given their full body of work a proper listening, the stuff I did listen to had an even bigger impact on me than Smashing Pumpkins did. The topicality of By Your Side isn't what they usually sing about, being a housewife specifically, but its interesting how they cut to the chase on the sentiments they're expressing. You heard of them?
EDIT: Okay, I got the song wrong. The song with the effects is Werewolves. Whoops. The other one I mentioned is still good though.

I hadn't heard of them but, I did look up both of those songs and I see what you mean. They are really interesting, I'm really getting into this. It kind of reminds me of Bjork in a way.

Now there's an artist I've been meaning to look into. Isn't she like, a pioneer in a way? The same friend who introduced me to them said that Bjork was kind of "the first". The first to do what? I dunno, I don't even remember how the rest of that conversation went, but since then I've been meaning to look into her work.

As far as I know Bjork is considered one of the larger trailblazers in introducing certain elements of electronic and avant garde music to the mainstream of the time. She did have a pretty unique approach to it and she was also in a band in the late 80's called the Sugarcubes, prior to her solo career. They're hit and miss for me but, I really love their song Birthday. (The Icelandic version, it's on YouTube) Bjork can also be kind of hit and miss but, she has some really creative and out there instrumentation going on. She's very innovate and certainly worth a look into.
