What I love about Marvel is that even though it's all superheroes, they're able to go into different genres, this case being a teen soap. I'm kind of getting a Netflix vibe too. Also, based on the prominent Roxxon sign, it seems like they're going off their Ultimate origins.

Cool. This is how the superhero genre survives, by being adaptable. Hopefully this adaptation is a good one.

Anyone keeping up on this show? It's awesome. While both leads are good and have great chemistry, the actress who plays Tandy is the most impressive to me. She's phenomenal, and I could see this show leading to bigger things in her future. Or maybe the show becomes huge all on its own. It's already Freeform's highest rated show since Pretty Little Liars. I don't know much about these characters, but I enjoy these versions of them. The last 2 episodes have succeeded in being the best in the bunch, with the most recent being even better than the one prior to take that title (IMO, of course).

I'm watching and loving it. Just as good as the Netflix shows as well as being able to do its own thing.

I just saw the season finale. Pretty satisfying episode overall. I love the gradual expansion of each character's abilities. Their power set is very unique within the MCU. As I've said before, I don't know much about these characters but I've enjoyed the interpretation that we've been presented with thus far. My favorite parts of this show were the way that the history of New Orleans was used (maybe fudged with a little, I haven't looked up the stories that were used as part of this show's story), the chemistry between the show's 2 lead characters and all of the cast's performances. Freeform has done a very good job with this series, and if the network is granted more creative input on Runaways for season 2, I think it's in good hands.
Marvel is still holding onto the "It's All Connected" mantra, even though their Netflix shows don't seem to be acknowledging Infinity War (or maybe the shows are set before the snap?) whereas Agent's of Shield has boldly gone around it. With Runaways and Cloak and Dagger, it's hard to say when those shows fit within the timeline. Anyway, I bring that up only because the season finale mentioned both the Starks and the Rands as economic power house families and I got excited. These two could and should crossover with the Netflix properties at the very least. I don't know how their performances would hold up on the big screen with Marvel's current A list roster of actors, but the longer they inhabit these characters, the stronger their performances will become.

With the exception of SHIELD, they've said all the shows currently take place before the snap. I'm sure at some point, they'll jump forward; they probably just want to tell their own stories without the movies interfering. And yeah, I love how they reference both movies and other shows; it's even got ties to Agent Carter's second season. When it comes to crossovers though, I think the best we'll get is with Runaways.

Yeah, I think you're right, but that doesn't sound too bad. I'd rather the Runaways cross over into Cloak and Dagger though, I think that show has a better handle on things. Not that Runaways was bad or anything, I just buy the characters more in Cloak and Dagger. Maybe it's because all of the kids in Runaways come from super wealthy families in SoCal (aka the Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Malibu, area etc.) and there's that whole stigma on how "Hollywood" people are fake. Maybe there's this intentional extra layer to these kids trying to find themselves that the kids in C&D don't have. The kids in C&D are definitely at a cross roads, and one of them is definitely well off financially, but it's not the same thing.
Anyway, bravo to Free form. This is kind of a tangent, but I remember watching this show called "Dead of Summer" on the network a couple years ago. My wife and I watched it because of how terrible it was. The acting was subpar and the whole creative team did a laughable job of trying to recreate a 1989 setting. Granted, my wife and I were very young in 1989, but we knew well enough that the show's version of 1989 was a lot more like 1999, with a little bit of early 2000s thrown in the mix. Cloak and Dagger was so much better, and I honestly didn't expect it. Almost makes me want to watch "Pretty Little Liars". :S
