Cool! I really like Gyllenhall. Then again, who doesn't? Anyone else wondering about whether or not they're going to be able to keep that Harry Potter model they initially wanted to use? I mean, I kinda thought the whole point of having Tom Holland is that he would bring the kid aspect into the MCU since all the other heroes have been adults. The first movie we had that, but I remember a lot of talk about him being able to stay in high school and them utilizing that to differentiate these films from the others? If they go global (I've read they will be), how will they hold onto that? How will they hold onto the friendly neighborhood aspect? Is that really possible any more at this point? Especially now that Peter Parker has been off planet and turned to dust. You have to imagine they'll be hard pressed to maintain his perspective as the relatable every man.

I can't wait for this. I've wanted Mysterio in a movie since I was a little kid and fought him in the Spider-Man 2 game back in '04. Sidenote: I think just like Ant-Man and the Wasp and Captain Marvel, this will take place before Infinite War. It's possible; the same's being said about Guardians 3. I hope not though, considering they said Avengers 4 is supposed to be the culmination of all the previous films and begin a new era in the MCU. Besides that, I'm pretty sure they said Spider-Man 2 happens right after Avengers 4.

This definitely looks intentional. Methinks he's putting on a show as the guy who can't help but spoil things.

I am in love with this suit. Much like how the MCU Iron Spider suit is a mix of the comics version and the Parker Industries armored suit, I see here a mix of the "Big Time" stealth suit and a modern take on the Noir version, and given Nick Fury's involvement, there's probably some inspiration from the black ops suit in Secret War.

Spider-Man: Far From Home Teaser Trailer
Any way we change the title of this thread? Also, I'm impressed. Homecoming was nice, I loved it initially, but in retrospect it feels like John Hughes light to me. Okay, so I still love it, but part of my love for it is that it's a Spider-Man movie. I want to love this movie based purely on it's own merits, the same way I do Thor: Ragnarok or John Wick. This one seems to be leaning a little more heavily into what made the first one feel unique among Spider-Man films, so that's promising. Also, I think the tone in this teaser trailer is consistent. The Homecoming teaser trailer was fun, but I remember feeling like it was a trailer for 2 different movies. I get why what with the character having to balance 2 different lives, but this trailer seems to have conveyed that and felt more cohesive.

Updated the title!
I hope that this won't be a dumbed down Incredibles 2, everybody knows that Mysterio's a villain. I was thinking it could be cool if it played out like the original Die Hard, where the audience is in on the fact Mysterio's a baddie, but we're just not sure whether Peter knows.
Anyway, too soon to tell what's up from just one trailer, but it looks like it could be a fun movie, at least hopefully better than Homecoming.

I love the trailer and think it looks good, from the potential romance with MJ, working with Fury, all the villains, and the use of the Ramones once again. I do admit that it's clear Mysterio's a villain and using the others to make himself look like a hero; between the original comics and the 90's animated series, it's expected at this point. But I'm hoping since that twist is so obvious that there will be another one to surprise the audience like when we found out Vulture was Liz's dad.

Dear Lord, I'm quoting myself, haha. It seems that many of the questions I had back when I wrote this have been answered by the new trailer.

Saw it today. Freaking awesome. The acting from Holland, Zendaya, Gyllenhall, and Jackson were great. The visuals and action were spectacular as well. Good lord that mid credits scene. First off, JK Simmons baby! But more importantly, it's bad enough Mysterio framed Peter, but to out his identity as well? Holy crap! Where's the story gonna go from there?
As for the post-credits scene, I was somewhat confused at first, but I think it may be possible set-up for Secret Invasion, like Fury and Talos are working together to find another group of Skrulls who aren't as nice and infiltrated Earth, quite possibly during the 5 year gap.

I liked it a lot! I still think people who claim it to be the best Spider-Man movie yet are being hyperbolic, but it sure was excellent.

There's this thing I spotted the first time I saw the movie. This isn't a spoiler or anything, but it's when Spider-man is swinging through a city **shock**. There's these words on a wall in the background that say "We can't wait to show you what comes next". Then, shortly after we get that mid credits scene. I have no idea where phase 4 is going, but as an Easter Egg that gives me chills. I'm telling you right now I don't think I can wait until phase 5 to get the next Spider-Man. Looking back at our posts earlier in this thread, I appreciate how the movie really is able to keep Spider-man being friendly neighborhood, even though he's on this globe trotting adventure. I was really worried that Spidey going to space in Infinity War and then being blipped out of existence would take away him being relatable. Turns out, it's a shared experience of half the universe, so that ended up not being a problem! I've seen the movie twice now, and I'm going again tonight. Having seen it a second time, I can see how certain things may have been a little surface level. The movie really does seem to coast on the chemistry of its cast. Tell you what though, the world seems to be LOVING this movie, which bodes well for future Spidey's. I think people are jumping the gun a bit when they say this could hit $1 billion. The movie is set to hit $500 million by Sunday evening, which is great, but with Lion King coming out, I can see this Petering* out around $800-900 million. I'm rooting for it though. It's interesting how they're approaching Spidey's villains with this franchise. There's some complaints around how they aren't directly connected to Spider-man like they are in the comics. I think the Raimi series started out very strong because of it, but then kind of overused the trope by Spider-Man 3's end. For the sake of universe building, I really do hope that they lay some new groundwork and expand a bit going forward so that they don't repeat what they've been doing in the MCU with Spidey, or repeat what the Raimi series did either. I think the core cast, and even the supporting characters, are strong enough to handle a little more drama. Given the way the movie ended, that mid credits scene, I can't see them going any other way but extremely dramatic by necessity of the narrative. *pun not intended, I'm no poetry spewing beatnik! (channeling you lopli )
