Beautifully haunting, in a really melancholy kind of way. Could we have 2nd, best actor win for a portrayal of the Joker on our hands? What did ya'll think about it?

I give him props for getting the laugh down, and I'd be lying if I said it didn't look interesting. My main issue is that it's not really the Joker. I mean, I know it's more of an Elseworlds scenario, but this is very different from what you'd expect with the character. Does that make sense?

I think so. I've never read any Elseworlds stories, but I understand the idea behind them. I'm okay with them exploring the idea. If it fails, then I'll probably regret it, but if it succeeds I think it opens the genre up in a direction that will make a lot more things possible, similar to the way Guardians of the Galaxy changed the game for Marvel.

I'm just hoping that they make him more of a hero, an anarchist against a corrupt system. In a more twisted Gotham, he could be their Batman. It would be a mistake if he ends up being the villain we know him to be, because the Joker of all people shouldn't be sympathetic.
But yeah, DC doing one-off movies now and then would be a good way to keep the genre interesting.
