Having never read the Jane Foster Thor stories, I've only heard good things from it. Hell, I heard the latest Thor run, War of the Realms was so badass that the MCU Thor with Chris Hemsworth would probably never do it justice, but regardless, this has me excited. I just hope that they can manage to have Jane Foster, Valkyrie, and Thor all be badasses without making one look stupid to prop up the other. I felt that in Ragnarok Thor got that much needed upgrade, but Valkyrie wasn't really able to showcase all the cool s*** they were saying she was capable of. Thor was amazing in Infinity War, but for whatever reason, he seemed to forget about his powers being inherent and only used lightning when he was wielding Storm Breaker, and then he completely falls apart and is a wreck during Endgame. This is turning into a complaining session. Let's get back to the reality of this: I'm extremely hyped for this movie. I want to see Thor get back to being a God because I'm done with the watered down Thor. I'm not sure what' I'd like to see in this one, but I'm hoping they can finally explore some of the more fantasy based elements of the character that they've always shyed away from. GOTG has silly sci-fi covered, let's get some Taika Waititi styled fantasy, shall we?

Thor Excitement and Concerns
So, I haven't looked into this too deep but in case anyone is in the know, but in the comic storyline does Thor lose his powers (like in Kenneth Branagh's 2011 film) when Jane becomes Thor? If so, then I'm not too hip on that. If it's like Endgame where Cap yield's Mjolnir and uses lightning against Thanos, with Thor still retaining his abilities then that's totally cool. Like I said in my post above, I want to see Thor with the powers he discovered in Ragnarok still. Even in Endgame, Thor should have been able to f***'n thunder punch Thanos's ass when Thanos used Storm breaker against him. Unfortunately, his powers have been the least consistent in all of the MCU. Sometimes he's powerful enough to take on the Hulk, sometimes he gets smacked around by beefed up goons that Hulk would totally shellack. The comics are inconsistent too, but the movies shouldn't be, they don't have 50+ years of movie history to contend with like the comics do within their medium.

Love the teaser. The one sheet poster for the movie is sick!!! If the movie delivers, I'll have to get a couple: one for the classroom and one for the house. One thing that stands out to me immediately is the colors and visuals. It's beautiful and the colors just make the whole thing pop off the screen. It looks like we may get an awesome soundtrack, and who could expect anything less from Taika Waititi, especially when he's collaborating with James Gunn? I'm not sure what Waititi has under his sleeve in terms of surprises in character development. His movies always have me rolling with laughter, but there are those accents of dramatic weight thrown in for good measure. While this movie is a far cry from Jojo Rabbit, if the experience of making that film has helped him grow as a film maker, I have no doubt we're in for some unexpected dramatic punches. Like, if we expect them, how can they be unexpected right? How does that make sense? I guess I just mean that I expect the film to have some serious moments that hit, but I think there's a good chance he may surprise us with the way he executes it.

While I think Ragnarok was still the better film, I did really enjoy this one. Waititi has a great handle on Thor's corner of the MCU, did justice by Natalie Portman as Jane, and Christian Bale's Gorr was fantastically scary. Plus the action was brilliant.
