One thing that bugs me is, he's using the Tesseract to time travel. If I'm wrong, it's only because that's the notion that Marvel themselves are putting that out there. The Infinity Stones' abilities have always been somewhat poorly defined, but once the actual time stone was introduced, you would think they'd at least preserve that Stone's autonomy in being able to do that specific thing (relative to the other stones).

I suppose you're right lopli (I know I'm responding to this months late). You know, I haven't been all that interested in this show, which is odd because Tom Hiddleston's Loki time jumping is one of the things that attracted me to JMS's run of the Thor books. I guess I've just been feeling that Loki has had a complete and fulfilling character arc already. That said, the Super Bowl trailer has Loki in some kind of a prison jump suit, and he threatens to burn the place to the ground. In listening to one of my favorite Youtube breakdown channels (Emergency Awesome) on the trailer, I learned that Loki is captured by the MCU's version of time cops. First of all, I didn't know Marvel had that sort of thing. Secondly, for some reason, this now makes me tremendously interested in the show. Count me in. I mean, I guess I was in any way, but now I feel the hype.

Yeah, I feel the same way. It seems a lot more necessary now that there's some subtle universe building being hinted at. A lot of people believe that these time police in some way foreshadow the likes of someone like Kang the Conqueror. I believe that Kang will be the next Loki and Dr. Doom will be the next Ultron. This will eventually lead to Galactus being the next Thanos which I think will be the final hoorah before they reboot and start fresh. I'm thinking maybe 2040 will end this current timeline of the MCU.

It's crazy to think of at this point, that's so far down the line, and yet, here we are. I'd be super curious to see what we were predicting the landscape would be like back when we first met around 2007ish. Wish we still had access to the Sony forums.

Yeah, I cant even find them on the web archives. Its documented up to a certain point then just seems to vanish when things were getting controversial. I remember when they told us we could have an off topic section but then once we got it they didn't want us playing games or using certain words. I can clearly remember not even being able to say the word crap. I was reported for saying the word crap once. It got pretty ridiculous

This is a crazy theory I had and my friend thought it was stupid, but I'm gonna share it anyway. So I know there's been debate over whether or not Marvel Netflix is connected, but what if the reason they never crossed over is because its in an alternate universe? Think about how the events of alt timeline New York happen in 2012. Loki escapes with the tesseract, and the Avengers are now disgraced. Could it be possible the reason Luke Cage, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Punisher, and Iron Fist only ever reference things from Phase 1 is because in this universe, the Avengers disbanded after New York? After all, Fury said himself that it was only a response team. It's entirely plausible to me that this could be a really good explanation.

I don't know how likely any of the Netflix characters could return in the future, but this way at least makes those series still matter in the grand scheme of the MCU.

Fun Rumors
I dunno if I want to see a council of Loki's if there's a possibility of having a council of Reed's. Granted, infinite universe's implies infinite versions of each character, but I dunno. I'd hope that council of "person x" would feel somewhat exclusive to Reed. Then again, success in execution of the concept doesn't have to be exclusive to Reed Richards' character. Also, having a council of Loki's seems every bit as exciting as having a Council of Reed's one day, especially since Loki actually has a show to do this with as opposed to just one movie with a 130 minute run time.

Hard to say what the series is about, and yet, I'm more intrigued by it now than I was prior to the release of the clip. Based on trailers, this one has me hooked the most. I'm still anticipating WandaVision the most, but the Loki footage now has me hyped more for it than Falcon and Winter Soldier. That simply wasn't the case a week ago.

www.comicbookmovie.com/sci-fi/star_wars/kevin-feiges-star-wars-movie-finds-a-writer-in-lokis-michael-waldron-as-that-series-gets-a-season-2-a181423#gs.q0fzubIt's hard not to get the speculative juices flowing... will Loki end up being the best of the bunch on Disney+ this year? On the one hand you have a very talented, proven, acclaimed head writer. We could also consider the fact that Marvel was so pleased with his input on Multiverse of Madness that they hired him to run the ship (in a way) on Loki, and of all the Disney+ shows, this is the only one to be confirmed for a 2nd season (aside from "What If...?"). This bodes well. One the other hand, WandaVision may be a one off by design, and the same might also be said of Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Shows like Hawkeye and Ms. Marvel (the last 2 shows slated for a 2021 release) aren't as far along in production, so less has been revealed on Marvel's plans for them. All that aside, the article states that no other writer at Disney has ever received this kind of a contract, so again... just how good will the Loki show be? Having a good script in and of itself won't make a show great, but you still have to ask yourself: Will this be the standout of the year for Marvel? Of all the trailers released on investors day, I think Loki's may have been the most impressive. Time will tell.

I've been meaning to mention this for a while now, but back around 2011ish I read J Michael Straczynski's Thor run. While it ended somewhat anticlimactically IMO, the second TPB compilation / vol. 2 remains one of my favorites of any comic series to date. In that series, Loki traveled through time to influence history. Not so much to change it, but to participate in certain significant events. While I can hardly remember the specifics of why he'd do that, I can say that the Loki trailer rang some bells in my brain that seemed to say "I recognize this!" and now I realize why. Yes, the show also borrows from other series too that may also be catching my attention, but no doubt it reminds me of that run.
Just wanted to mention in here in case anyone else read it.
