I wonder if the credits scene will lead directly into Black Adam? Or do you think he will actually be the villain of this movie

Black Adam comes out before this in December 2021. It'll probably be Mr. Mind as the main villain with Adam being in the third.

I'm a DC fan and this looks fun, but jeez, Marvel absolutely buried them this year. I know it's kind of hard to promote Aquaman and Flash given the Heard and Miller situations, but jeez.

I hear ya. I liked this trailer myself, more than the Black Adam trailer, and I'm rooting for that one too. This movie should be a lot of fun. I will say that were it not for Avatar coming out around the same time, I think this movie would have a shot at doing a lot better than the first one at the box office. It has some pretty ardent defenders.

Another delay to March 17, 2023: www.cbr.com/aquaman-2-shazam-2-delayed-2023-dceu-warner-bros/On one hand, yes, this push is smart to avoid Avatar 2. But there's also the fact Aquaman got another push to next Christmas. It just adds more credence that WB has been in complete disarray with the Discovery merger (and let's not get started on the HBO Max animation debacle).

The HBO Max situation has been problematic, for sure. With that said, I still believe that WB is finally taking their DC properties more seriously and while unpopular decisions are being made now, I think it'll benefit them in the long run. Time will tell though. To clarify, I think they've taken their properties seriously in the past, but they haven't taken their shared universe ambitions seriously enough. Warners can be a place that has auteuristic ambitions for some of their projects while still planning and mapping out a more cohesive mainline universe. They've spent the last 10-12 years trying to be different from Marvel in that regard instead of just taking what worked (which is essentially having an actual plan) and doing it for themselves. I'm glad they're not being as bullish on that front. While other studios may have tried to do the same (Sony Pictures, Universal with their Monsters Universe), none have the backlog of celebrated and established stories (in terms of quantity/volume of stories) that DC comics has. They should have been using Marvel's approach a long time ago, so I really am hoping that it works out for them this time.

This looks like a lot of fun. I was moderately excited for this before. Now? I could see myself checking this out opening weekend, and if not opening, by week 2 for sure. I'm in, again, only more so now lol.
