I really hope they bring it with this character. So much potential to be tapped into. Before this film came out, people liked Bree Larson. I know that she didn't do herself any favors with that one interview she did*, but people will embrace her in the roll if the movie kicks ass, I believe. Look at Carrie Fisher (may she rest in peace), she spoke out and was very much an activist for women, and while she may have been a controversial figure for her own personal struggles, people still liked her in the roll and still loved the movies.
**To be honest, I think what Larson did was awesome and I found after looking into it that a lot of stuff she is being criticized for has been misrepresented. Even if I think she had her part in giving the trolls ammunition, I don't think there was any way she could have expressed herself without getting backlash. Such is life.

I'm hoping this adapts Secret Invasion or at least sets it up as the next Avengers level threat

Phase 4 has been plagued with more delays than any other phase due to the state of the world. It's unfortunate and I have to believe that's the reason for the dip in quality. I understand that the MCU has to rebuild, but they can do that without the dip in quality. It has to come down to dates being moved around, stories changing, etc. Even if they say they have their system and the procedure down, how could it not have an impact on their story telling?

Love the poster. I'd put this up in my classroom or home office.

I like what I see so far. I only hope Marvel learned from "Multiverse of Madness" and will bring Kamala into the film in a way that doesn't make her own series essential viewing to understand the story for those who don't have Disney+.

Same. I always look to Pixar's Up as an effective way of telling a lot of story in a short period of time. Granted, Up has one of the greatest opening scenes of all time (IMO), but the point still stands. I think you can use the opening of the film to re-introduce the characters to the GA at large, set the stage, and then hit then it's off to the races.
Hard to say what direction this movie will go, but I can see them telling the story from three different perspectives: 1) the everyman (Kamala) 2) the scientist/government worker (Rambeau), and 3) the God. Granted, Carol isn't a God, but she's got a cosmic level perspective and God level powers. Perhaps it's a story that talks about the intersection of these 3 different perspectives and how they are all connected, albeit, from different vantage points.
Okay, straight up, I think my movie sounds better than what we're gonna get, but either way, this trailer looks fun!

Man, I liked this trailer. I liked the teaser too, but I enjoyed this one more. The box office these days sort of reminds me of what we had in the early 2000s. This was back when 90 million dollar opening was a runaway success, and a movie hitting 800 million dollars would've landed it in top 20 all time box office gross lists. Unfortunately, budgets of today's blockbuster's make it so that 500-600 million dollars is considered break even money for a lot of today's high profile projects.
People love to hate on Marvel right now and they really love to hate Brie Larson. Some of it might be justified, and some of it is rubbish, but I really do hope Marvel was able to right this ship and that the movie can do some respectable numbers.
