Despite the Miller controversies, the delays, and impending reboot, this does look epic. And I certainly see based on this and Gunn's comments how the film could still be used to transition into the new universe.

My thoughts exactly. This trailer was fantastic. I wasn't hyped for this movie, even with Keaton being in it. That was mostly because we hadn't actually seen any footage where Keaton does something. However, after seeing the full trailer with Michael Shannon, Ben Affleck, and Michael Keaton, I quickly changed course. Especially because he's not just playing an old Batman that's not involved. He's in there doing his thing and looking INCREDIBLE! Not sorry for the all caps, so happy to have Keaton back.
On a side note, I'd love to get a Batman Beyond movie someday with a real, geriatric Batman taking on the role of Alfred in the Batcave, but I am so happy that Keaton is still getting after it.

Chills by the end. Reactions from the Cinemacon premiere have been spectacular. I may be jinxing it, but I think this and Guardians 3 will prove that superhero movies aren't dead yet. Yeah, we've kind of been in a slump, but those two feel special, maybe due to the fact they're both hyped up conclusions within their franchises, with Gunn wrapping up his trilogy and Flash resetting the universe.

One thing about the older superhero films is that they didn't quite have fight choreography down yet. Even in the first X-Men and Spider-man movies, you'd see these very wooden characters sort of punching and then hesitating and it just didn't look right. It sort of makes me appreciate the 90s live action TMNT movies even more for being able to do what they did in those suits because it was so far ahead of its time. That said, I've always wanted to see a Michael Keaton Batman movie with today's fight choreographers behind it, and it looks like we'll get to see that. Incredible!
*I acknowledge that X2 and also Spider-man 2 took huge leaps in the choreography we got to see on screen, and Blade 1 and 2 were outliers as well. **Watchmen hands down had the best hand to hand combat in a superhero movie until the Russos came in and did Winter Soldier.

* First off, good choice of music. * From this trailer, I feel like Batfleck's going out on a high note. Could it rival the warehouse fight in BvS? We'll see. Also, nice to see Jeremy Irons' Alfred one last time too. * "The Future Begins Now" line is nice way of referring to the universe reset.

I liked it for the most part.
Pros: * Keaton killed it. * The Flash's powers were portrayed with great visuals and done in a very unique way compared to previous live action depictions, including Justice League. * The styles of Burton and Snyder are greatly homaged and respected (with moments from the Snyder Cut being directly referenced). * A more emotional payoff than the animated adaptation of "Flashpoint".
Cons: * Some moments with the Barry's haven't aged well considering all the Ezra Miller controversies. * The final moments before the credits roll felt like everything lead up to a bad joke and doesn't seem to actually set up the new DCU, with the post-credits scene doing nothing to help matters.

I was planning on seeing this movie on Monday. Unfortunately, I will have to wait another week. Super excited for it though.

Just remembered that you did see the movie BIB. In the other thread I had mentioned looking forward to everyone else's perspectives. Besides you and brotherandbass, it's just me so that comment made no sense. That said, I agree with your takes on the movie. Here's hoping to a bright new future over at DC.

It's kind of crazy how much this film is bombing at the box office, and yet I kind of get it. While I liked it for the most part, it being hyped up as one of the greatest superhero movies ever was overselling it. Plus, the impending reboot and Ezra's antics seemed to be still big factors for people not seeing it. While I certainly think a reprisal was already out of the cards, this probably is the end of Ezra's time as the character. On that note, I have an idea of what the new DCU can do different: bring in Wally West. Wally was the main Flash for 23 years in the comics before Barry came back and has taken the book back over since 2021 and was a founding Justice League member in the DCAU. He was the Flash for a generation, and I think it's time he took the spotlight back.
