Not sure of Trank is the right man for the job. Of all the superheroes out there being given the realistic treatment, FF doesn't seem to need it. A better treatment is in order I suppose, but that's not the same thing. Chronicle is Trank's directorial debut, and we haven't seen anything else from him. On the otherhand, I'm supporting Marc Webb, whose only feature length film was "(500) Days of Summer". So I won't argue against him beyond what I say in this post, I'm just not sure that he's the right fit.
At least with Marc Webb, when I saw the human sensibilities he brought to (500) Days, I thought "That's exactly what Peter Parker needs!" With Chronicle I was like, "This movie is amazing!" but I didn't think "he'd be perfect for FF". But again, that's all I'll say. If he gets FF it'll be interesting to see what he does with it.

Release date set: March 6, 2015 www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/MarvelFreshman/news/?a=71023#y8D8d44V4dKwDdv2.01I know I've been pesimistic about this and wishing Marvel had the rights back, but it seems like Fox is starting to get their shit together with their Marvel properties, especially with Mark Millar on as a consultant. So I'm gonna try to be more positive about this. For those who haven't heard, Millar and Fox plan to build their own connecting universe with X-Men and Fantastic Four, starting with The Wolverine. Millar also want this universe to be relative to the proper MCU, trying not to contradict it, and make audiences think all Marvel films could be in the same universe. I really like that idea, and it makes sense considering the general public doesn't have a clue about Marvel's film rights and who has what. Along with the Amazing Spider-Man series, I'd like to consider all these upcoming films an unofficial part of the main MCU, just with no crossovers, unless they work out a deal for something like an Avengers vs. X-Men movie. Point is, whether it's Disney, Fox, or Sony, I think the future is bright for Marvel movies. Now if only DC could get it's shit together.

Well, well, well. Interesting. No idea what to expect from this, but movies about family, when taken seriously, are pretty solid. Should be exciting to see the world's first superhero family in action again.

Apparently this is the synopsis included in the casting call: spinoff.comicbookresources.com/2014/01/24/fantastic-four-casting-call-hints-at-big-changes/The Fantastic Four will tell the tale of two very young friends, Reed Richards and Ben Grimm. After an event transforms the boys, they find themselves empowered with bizarre new abilities. Reed becomes a scientific genius who can stretch, twist and re-shape his body to inhuman proportions. Ben becomes a monstrous, craggy humanoid with orange, rock-like skin and super-strength. However, the two end up being owned by the government and used as weapons. But after they mature, two others with powers come into the picture – Sue Storm “The Invisible Girl” and Johnny Storm “The Human Torch.”Uh...not sure what to think here.
