I hope Shredder is kind of fleshed out as the movie develops. It would be nice to have some bits and pieces of his origins, because it seems like every incarnation of Turtles has a different Shredder back story and they're all pretty well crafted. The turtle designs look nice and almost surreal in a strange way. I like how they actually seem to resemble roided up, up-right turtles. That's a pretty nice touch. Considering how much I love the 2003 series, Utrom Shredder would be a pretty neat idea or maybe even combining Krang and Shredder as one character

The world needs heroes... so lets do some crazy experiments with turtles!

I enjoyed the 2007 Turtles movie to pieces. It was set in the Caribean, and they even got Morgan Freeman to do the narration... j/k, but seriously, it was a pretty fun movie. It does look like they got the characterization down alright, and I'll bet the fight choreography will be a blast. The CGI on the characters looks off to me. I have no idea how the tone of this is going to work. I'm still curious about this movie.

I felt like the trailer is selling the movie to Megan Fox fans rather than to TMNT fans. Nearly half of the shots are of her.

True. If they can clean up the special effects though and really sell the look of the turtles, it'll be worth seeing (for me) for the action. We haven't seen a live action turtles movie in a long time. Like I said in my last post, I was sorely disappointed walking out of March of the Penguins. Not a single punch or kick was thrown in that one, I felt as though marketing pulled a fast one on me. It looks like Freeman is trying to pull that shit again with that upcoming Island of Lemurs: Madagascar movie. I'll be god damned if they get me to see the movie twice.

Eh, I'm not sold on it, but I admit it looks like a fun, albeit silly movie.

Yeah, although I might try to see it in theaters. The personalities seem about right, and the action will be pretty fun. Silly as that Shredder costume looks in stills, in motion it's actually kinda sick. Way over the top even for this concept, but it's probably not going to be the main complaint that I'll have with the movie.
On another turtles related note, I discovered an animated cross over event movie from 2009 called Turtles Forever. The turtles from the 80's cartoon crossed over into the present day (or present day at that time) to meet with the turtles from the early 2000 show.

I won't lie, that trailer had potential to win me over. A few comments based about it though: *So the Foot are military like terrorists. Well it could be workable. *I honestly get a Jonah Hill vibe from Mikey. *Shredder's suit is a little much. "Not one sword, not two swords, but ten fucking swords! No one will stop me now!" *Fucking dubstep. *The aliens line seemed forced b/c of, well, you know. *Is it me, or just based on even that one line, it seems like Megan Fox is phoning this in. I don't know, maybe the film will surprise me; but it is Michael Bay and Megan Fox. I'll wait for reviews, but I think I'd only see it in theaters during a $4 matinee.

Floating swords, mind you, unless that's just some Bay inspired slow motion in effect. ;D Right though? I mean, with everything you said, this is something I could potentially see in theaters during an economy price showing. I enjoyed the turtle's dialogue (the Batman line), and the martial arts will no doubt be really cool. I'm somewhat disappointed in how shoddy the CGI is on the turtles though. Compare it to TASM's Lizard CGI from 2 years ago, and the Lizard looks better. There's a weird shine to these guys, especially Donatello, and it's just bad.
As for Michael Bay, I like him, even though he's Michael Bay. He's sort of the Jay Leno of the directorial world. Talented and with plenty of fans, totally willing to address that people don't like him, yet somewhat clueless as to why when there are ten foot tall legitimate reasons flapping in the wind. He's honest with his intentions though, misguided as they may be, and I know enough lovable lunkheads just like him to feel a fond sense of familiarity when he's doing interviews.
EDIT: Traditionally random side note- In a battle of ridiculous and over the top "robot samurai's", who'd win between the final version of Silver Samurai in The Wolverine and this guy? This guy's suit looks like it does more tricks, and the guy inside is probably the better martial artist, but Wolverine's Silver Samurai is made out of Adamantium and the guy inside has the ability to steal healing abilities. Either way, I'd be shocked if no one did a video on this eventually.

But wait, what's Micheal Bay's role in the production of the movie besides financing it and whatnot?

Not sure. The cinematography looks in line with something from his school of directing (i.e.: color scheme and action shots.) Bay was also very involved in defending the story, or whatever vision the writers came up with. He's definitely not at Bryan Singer's level in the creative process, but it has his DNA in it for sure.
