More Michael Bay action:
The transformations look better than ever, but that's always the case. So far, unlike the recent X-Men, Godzilla, and Spider-man movies, this isn't presenting an older action concept in a new way. I will probably see it in theaters though.
Interstellar Trailer 2:
Funny enough, this reminds me of some of Spielberg's earlier work. Screenrant poses a good question: How much earth bound drama will there be in comparison to space travelling, and will it stand up to the bar set by Gravity? Nolan spoke of his approach to using practical effects to convey being in outer space. He had these giant photos printed and set them up on the outside of his space shuttle set so that the actors and cameras were looking at real images instead of CGI. I'm actually not a big fan of that. I know that techniques have evolved over time, but that's what Raimi did in all of his Spider-man movies, and I could always tell that there were merely 2D photographs in the background, outside the Bugle windows. It seems that more and more these days, if you want full immersion, you have to make the scene entirely CGI. Never thought I'd say that.

Maybe if they made a film about the origin of Tetris, it could've been interesting... But really? An "epic sci-fi adventure?"

Are they going for a Lego movie type of concept?

In the Heart of the Sea (March 2015)
Ron Howard is directing, and Chris Hemsworth is sinking his teeth into a meaty role. I'm in.

Rush was my favourite film from last year, so I definitely won't want to miss this one!

John Wick (Fall 2014):
First and foremost, holy shit. Secondly, that looks bananas. The gun fu in particular looks especially savory. This is the first Keanu Reeves movie I've wanted to see in some time. How have none of us brought this up yet? How have I just now discovered it? Apparently it has been getting rave reviews, and people are talking of Keanu's career having some sort of revival due in some ways to this. If he gets the part of Dr. Strange, I'd say that's definitely true.
It's interesting, isn't it? At one point in time Marvel seemed to be going for actors who hadn't quite made A list status yet to play the parts of their main characters. They'd surround that actor with A listers, sure, but we were getting Chris Hemsworth's and RDJ before he was Tony Stark, Chris Evans's, etc. Now they're straight up going for the A list to play their main characters.

50 Shades of Grey
Will this really be the train wreck most people are predicting [hoping] it will be? Apparently, there's an unusual amount of talent behind the film. I'm curious, but not enough to see it in theaters on opening day. Maybe if it's a hit, my wife and I will check it out mid March or something. This really does feel to me like it could be a Spring Breakers type of situation. On a completely different note, it kind of bugs me that men are allowed to have our stupid, indulgent films, but women aren't. You know? It's not as if our stupid, indulgent movies aren't criticized either, but it's nowhere near the level of hate that gets shoveled at movies that pander to women. Just sayin.
For the record, I kind of expect it to be a train wreck too, unless the talent behind the film forsakes the source material.

Who wouldn't? And of course it'll be scored by Danny Elfman.
