talk about upcoming movies you are pumped for or the ones you think should NEVER be made yet they'll still make it to the big screen. For me, The Smurfs is the dumbest idea yet

We know the drill here right? Don't click the link in her post. It is spam and the poster is a spammer.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation
It looks so, so overall. But I had fun with the last one, and Bruce Willis made me laugh at the end of the new trailer.

Chronicle. It comes out in less than 2 weeks.
It looks so different than anything else I've seen for the superhero genre. While Kickass took the "realistic" trend and turned it on its head with over the top comedy, this may open up the trend to another direction. Or, its characters might all be assholes and I'll wish someone could defeat them. We'll see.

I don't really have interest in seeing it, but let us know how it is. The director is up for the Fantastic Four reboot and I'd like to know if he'd be right for the job.

Chronicle is at 85% with the top critics at RT, with an average rating of 7.2/10. Damn. Not only are the critics entertained, they're legitemately impressed. Even Ebert gave it 3.5 out of 4 stars.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
It sounds so ridiculous it could be amazing. The teaser trailer was a mixed bag for me though. The Abe Lincoln voice made me chuckle a bit. I discovered that Dominic Cooper is in it, and that Tim Burton is producing, which is a far cry from him directing the film. Maybe that's a good thing.
The visual effects and settings look incredible. Oh, and the Axe wielding looks absolutely incredible. Never seen anyone use the weapon like that in a movie before. So, who knows? It's this and Prometheus in June I think, so there should be room on the schedule.

book was good, but oddly good. it was played dead serious and i guess kind of reminds you that vampires were never always over the top. vampires are horror and dracula was written as such.
so the book turns out to be a legit drama behind a ridiculous premise. the movie is owning up to it. idk if that voice over was abe lincoln though

The Raid: Redemption See trailer: screenrant.com/the-raid-redemption-trailer-kofi-156185/Holy hell, did that look brutal. I'm not as big of a fan of mindless American action films as I am of mindless Eastern martial arts films, BUT, this looks like it might have some semblance of a story. Maybe. If not, just watch that trailer and tell me the inner kung fu fan in you doesn't demand to see this movie. What's crazy is that the style of fighting they're using looks like the style that Nolan pulled from when he made Batman Begins (see dvd special features). Except here,it looks cooler. No disrespect to Batman or anything.

New Trailer for Snow White and the Huntsman: screenrant.com/snow-white-huntsman-trailer-extended-preview-sandy-159891/This just looks better and better. Maybe a few raging Kristen Stewart haters will learn not to shit on everything that's connected to Twilight in some way. That is, if the movie is as amazing as it looks. Funny as it sounds, the music gave off an Inception vibe.

What I've found, is that it's incredibly easy for people to build a bias over something, and very hard to shake it once it's there. This is why so many comic book movie fans still angry over the SM reboot believe that Andrew Garfield can't pass as an 18 year old, but that Tobey Maguire didn't look a day over 18 when he did the first Spider-man movie.
Even I can't help but agree that Kristen Stewart looks indifferent, but I doubt that she's going to single handedly ruin the whole movie. Beside that, she can act. She's been nominated and won a best actress award from both the Screen Actors Guild and the Milan International Film Festival. Back in the early 00s, she earned several Young Artist Awards too. Kiera Knightley was criticized for the longest time about the pouty face she makes when she acts (criticism hit an all time high when she was working on the super popular Pirates films), yet she has been recognized by the Academy, the Golden Globes, the London Film Critics Circle, etc.
