So I need to read a book for my English class and I have to choose it. Usually, I always have a book in mind, but this time, I'm out of ideas. So any suggestions? Note: The only specifications are: 1. Has to be narrative. 2. Has to be at least 150 pages (the shorter it is, the better it is (for me), though). Thanks in advance!

One Flew over the cuckoo's nest. Fantastic book Sounds good, thanks. I'll highly consider it. I heard good stuff about it, the only problem I have is that it's 320 pages. Yeah, it's short, or at least, not too long, but I have like 3 other books to read at the same time within two weeks ( ), so I don't know. Thanks again.

I recommend I am legend. I believe it's exactly 150 pages. It's a 3 part story and it's great.

I settled for One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest because someone had already taken the last Anthem from my library and (1) it's for tomorrow (2) I was still hesitant so the availability of the book made the choice for me. But thanks a lot for all the suggestions everyone, I really appreciate the help.

And what's tough about it, the English? the book is hard because it takes place in a post apocalyptic world in a supposed "utopia" which is run by a from of super communism. after whatever war destroyed civilization the surviving members at least in this society determined the problem was individuality. if everyone always thinks about the whole instead of the part then there would never be any conflict. and through possibly centuries or even longer of this society the individual idea was completely destroyed. singular pronouns no long exist in this world. so instead of I the main character says We. Instead of You he says They. it can get confusing at the beginning, but the book is fantastic. you really rally behind the main character who is by all means a superior man in a world where everyone is "equal" the man is physically fit, he's good looking, and very smart. it just starts with his intellect. he comes up with new ideas and discoveries and wants to be a scholar, but in this society jobs are chosen and he is placed as a street sweeper. he initially wants his discoveries for the good of the society, but over time he learns of the individual. the book is about how equality is nice in some regards, but in the extreme it suppresses new ideas and innovation.
