I should have been clearer about the title thing. Alien is the one who didn't like the title so much. I think the title is great, however, if the movie was called "Caesar" I would've crapped my pants with glee.

well its kind of nostalgic to the original franchise. every title had planet of the apes in it and it almost kind of like the indy movies or star wars.
a throw back to the way more wordy movie titles. i like it a lot actually.

The Girl Who Played With Fire: 8/10
I enjoyed this more than The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, but probably because I felt a stronger connection to the characters this time around. This was a really good sequel. A proper expansion on the groundwork from the first film.

Drive (it just came out and it has Ryan Gosling in it): 8/10
This movie felt flawless (I cannot point a single misstep), but it didn't "reach in and stick to my ribs" <oh no, I'm quoting myself> like Shawshank did, or Forest Gump. Still, it's a really really cool movie that is engaging and gripping. I highly recommend it as the artsy alternative to "The Transporter". It's badass.

Warrior (Tom Hardy): 8/10
Hardy is a beast in this movie. He just beats the sh!t out of people right and left. And his acting, it's fantastic. Totally had the Philly accent going, it was so good. You'd think it was the way he really talked. The man will definately bring a menacing and dangerous quality to Bane.

I'm just going to accept that I watch way too many movies and continue my uninterupted chain of posts.
Catfish (the Facebook documentary): 10/10 This one stuck to me, AND I can find in it no flaw. In my book, that warrants a perfect score.
I've heard that it was fake, and then I saw the extra features and no longer believe that's the case. The film makers maintained that the story was not fabricated. They were very serious, and I don't believe they're so good at acting that they were able to lie with that much sincerity.

My Sister Keeper - 8/10. I've never read the book but I heard the film made some big changes. Maybe thats why it got mixed reviews.

Crazy, Stupid, Love: 7.5 / 10
There were some plot contrivances, but it was very well acted and kind of a breath of fresh air. That and I like Julianne Moore. She's over twice my age, but I'll be damned if she isn't beautiful.
Cars 2: 9 / 10. Cars 2 got a lot of hate. Maybe it's because Toy Story 3 was Pixar's last great hit before Cars 2, and people aren't exactly in love with the first Cars. But regardless, it was really, really good. It wasn't more of the same in my opinion. It was a lot darker, to be perfectly honest, and the scope of the film was global. Spoilers ahead here. Cars got mangled and were murdered. The movie took place in like, 5 different countries, and the secret agent stuff was pretty darn good. John Lasseter wasn't lazy creatively with this at all, and I feel that this movie got an undue bad rep. I gave it a 9 because it was a fun movie that impressed the hell out of me with its colors, story, voice acting, and overall presentation. Had my expectations been higher, I may have given the movie an 8 out of 10, but it pleasantly surprised me so it gets a 9.

Face/Off - 9/10 This is possibly the greatest, and definitely the most exuberant, action film to come out of the 90's. Great acting from Cage and Travolta. Without them, this movie probably would've just been another bland John Woo film.

Is that the one where they get plastic surgery and become each other? Like, one of them is an FBI agent and the other is a criminal or something? Cuz I think I heard about this one. If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's Travolta's first real embrace of being a villain in movies.

Clerks 9/10
Between the characters and their relationships with each other, the unique sense of humor, the overall feel to the movie and the relatability, it's one that I will never tire of watching. Fo sho my favorite out of Kevin Smith's little movie universe.

The Muppets Movie: 8.5 / 10.
If you're a fan of the muppets, most likely you'll be a fan of the movie. If you're not a fan of the muppets, I wish you a terrible Thanksgiving!
j/k. The movie wasn't perfect, but its self awareness and pop culture spoofs (which I enjoyed more than the Shrek series gags) landed on the right side of clever like 90% of the time, so I'm all in.

Mission Impossible: 8/10 Amazing stunt work, solid performances, and compelling script. The plot confused the crap out of me though. I had to wiki that shit. After I did that, I didn't care, but I was really impressed with the action and the movie's use of prosthetics.
Mission Impossible 2: 7/10 Let's get something straight here, I was impressed with this movie. That being said, John Woo fucked up the tone. His action pieces were pretty good. Even though the acting was a little corny at times, thanks to Woo, Tom Cruise grew on me, more so than in the last film. However, Woo's use of slow motion and over the top, extended fight scenes was corny as hell (how many times did the villain get drop kicked, elbowed, and punched in the chest and face before Cruise had to just shoot him??). It interfered with the dramatic moments, it's like he had trouble mixing them into all the action. Long story short, I was surprised by how amused I was.
This next thing is totally unrelated, but I noticed that the music reminded me a lot of the music in TDK. That and some of the locations. The way they filmed Sydney at night, it looked like Hong Kong to me. I wonder if TDK got some of its inspiration from MI2.
I'll be watching MI3 next before Ghost Protocol comes out.
EDIT: And Hans Zimmer did some work on MI2. That explains it.
