Walking Dead Season 5- 9/10 Walking Dead Season 6- 8.5/10 Walking Dead Season 7- 8/10 Walking Dead Season 8- 8/10 Walking Dead Season 9- 8.5/10 Walking Dead Season 10- 8.5/10 Can't watch parts 1 and 2 of season 11 cause its not on Netflix yet Season 11 I'd give a strong 7. The last couple episodes ruined it because that was the safest send off for a series I've ever seen. It's so obvious who would live and who would die to set up the spin offs.

Ant Man and the Wasp Quantumania: 7.5 out of10 So, there will be some spoilers going forward. I've been wanting to go the Quantum realm since I learned what it was. Did the movie pull it off in a way that met or exceed my hopes? It did not. However, the story of Kang in the Quantum realm was fascinating, and I think there's room to go back and perhaps take a more exciting, more visually pleasing look at this place. Janet Van Dyne says it all: There's an entire universe down here, worlds upon worlds. I mean, all those different creatures had to have come from somewhere, ya know? I was actually very pleased with the movie overall. The start was pretty shaky. I liked everything with Michelle Pfeiffer and Jonathan Majors, I think Paul Rudd is an American treasure, and Michael Douglas was great too. Wasn't thrilled with Cassy (at first) or the introduction of the Quantum people. That said, as we got into the main plot and each different story line started to converge, the movie got better. I actually loved the use of ants in this movie. Ant Man is one of those characters people don't take seriously, but whose powers could conquer the world. The man can literally militarize ants to do whatever he wants them to do, and make them any size he wants to make them. Ant Man could've stopped Thanos's hoards in Endgame, and this movie proves it. I do hope going forward that Marvel focuses on making each film special in its own right. People have forgotten how good the MCU can be. We are back to Phase 1 levels of dismissal and disdain. I tend to be a Feige apologist. I mean, I can't dismiss every misstep in the MCU, can I? At this point, Feige bares a decent portion of the blame for the MCU's recent stumbles. However, I still believe he's the guy to get the ship back on course for something special. I believe with Bob Iger's support he will, and I sincerely do hope we get back to every movie being an absolute banger real soon. How many more mid movies will we have to sit through until then, I don't know, but I saw hints of the old MCU peaking through in this movie and I am definitely more excited for the overall overarching narrative going forward now that I've seen Quantumania.

Creed III: 9/10
Unfortunately, this viewing was hampered by a group of jerks (looked to be between 14-16 years of age) who were literally running wild. I'm talking in and out of the theater room, pulling their phones out with the volume on, shouting at the screen and bugging out. One guy crashed into the theater room wall multiple times, fell in and out of the chairs, and possibly fell asleep standing up. I think only one was on something, the others were just being kids. I was there with my dad who is in his late 60s and didn't want to attract any extra attention, but it was a dicey situation for sure. In spite of all that, this movie rocked!
Michael B Jordan slid into the director's chair like someone who has grown up his entire life studying the professionals, and I suppose in his case he has. Like Ron Howard, Jordan has been in the business since he was a kid. The thing I like about these Creed movies is their consistency of quality. People say the first was the best but the second was strong. For me, I think they're a home run every time, period. Like, if you hit the ball into the stands or you smack it out of the park, it's still a home run, you know? I loved it. The boxing was great, the acting was great, the presentation like cinematography and editing choices all came together very well. Jonathan Majors was so good in this too. The guy just becomes whoever he is portraying and it elevates whatever he's in. I suppose I can't give the movie a perfect 10 out of 10 because it wasn't the perfect experience, but that wasn't the fault of the movie in anyway. I plan on owning this in physical form, and recommend anyone who likes the Rocky films to check this one out. Even with the behind the scenes drama, it's worth the watch.

John Wick Chapter 4: 8.5 out of 10
This movie was way too long. I don't mind long movies, but I think they could've edited this movie down quite a bit. That said, the gun-fu in this movie is second to none. Jaw on the floor. So many amazing moments. Every so many years a movie comes along that sets a new bar and makes you wonder how on earth it will ever be topped. For John Wick to do that after what they did in the first three is an achievement in and of itself. Donnie Yen is awesome, they're all awesome, but Donnie Yen was so cool. I could see a 2 hour, maybe 2 hour and 15 minute cut of this movie being a perfect 10 viewing experience, but hey, it's still worth watching for any fan of action movies for sure.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3: 10/10
The MUSIC (of course), the heart, the sincerity and emotion from the actors, the set design, the prosthetics, the CGI, the cinematography, the action and ESPECIALLY the action from a needle drop scene using a specific Beastie Boys song... I loved this movie. It's instantly in my top 5 all time MCU films, which is a feat considering you have heavy weights like Iron Man, Captain America Winter Soldier, the first Guardians movie, Black Panther, Thor Ragnarok, Infinity War and Endgame, strong outings from the Spider-Man franchise, etc. I LOVED this movie. Made me cry more times than I care to admit, and the thing was... I simply wasn't ready for it.
Call me a little cynical after the last 3ish years of Disney+ Marvel content and so-so silver screen outings. I've always been a supporter and I knew James Gunn was not someone to be dismissed, but it was hard not to lose a little bit of faith. So I go into the movie theater and the movie just wrecked me. I will see this movie in theaters again at least one more time. Would love to know your thoughts people.

Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse 10/10
You know, I only give 10s to movies that give me a perfect movie experience. This is the only 10 I've given for a movie that's just... for me, perfect. See, with Guardians I know full well I was "hooked on a feeling" as the lyrics go, and with subsequent viewings I know that's not going to remain the same for me. I reeeeaally don't think that's going to be the case here. The movie is like the ultimate jam session between some crazy inspired animators and artists and musicians and comics writers. For my money, this is easily the best Spider-Man movie put to screen and I have no idea how they could hope to match it with the next one, never mind topping it. If anyone can do it though, it's Lord and Miller. Have these guys ever missed? Solo doesn't count, Disney shut that down before it ever got off the ground.

Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse (rewatch) 9.5/10
This movie is incredible. The pieces fit together even better upon rewatch. I knocked it down half a peg because this time I did feel the runtime, and I believe they could've shaved a good 5-10 minutes and still got the point across. That said, I did enjoy that this movie lived in some amazing character moments. My belief though is that they still could've had that and ended the movie just a few minutes sooner. Regardless, I cannot wait to see the movie again even if I can't see it in theaters one more time.
On a side note, my theater had a lot of people in it, and The Flash just dropped today/yesterday, as well as Elementals, and Transformers dropped the week before that. So, even with incredible competition, people are still coming out to see this movie.

The Flash: 7.5 out of 10
When this movie hits, it hits really good. For me the problem is Ezra Miller's characterization. That's not to say he did a bad job. I'm not saying anything of his acting ability. However, I just don't like the way the personality portrayed on screen. It's like Pauly Shore and his crazy friends got cast for this superhero movie and it just never really landed with me. When Barry isn't being so obnoxious, I liked him well enough. He has some moments where he shows some real vulnerability and I can definitely root for that guy (Barry, not the actor portraying him). The CGI during the running sequences also has to be acknowledged. It's so bad. Muschietti says it's an intentional design choice. Honestly, I have to believe that. When Barry is in his speed force bubble thing and he's looking at people in past events, the people look like the 3D human models you'd see in a Playstation 3 video game. Not all of it was that bad, but a lot of it was. I'm talking about A LOT. The worst of the worst was Scorpion King bad. So, there's no way that's not an artistic choice. A questionable choice, but a choice nonetheless.
That said, I thought the story was easy enough to follow and I loved how Michael Keaton fit into it all. He was absolutely great, his action scenes remained true to what you'd imagine him fighting like in the 80s if Hollywood had the techniques to produce those sorts of action scenes back then. Supergirl was incredible too. I absolutely loved everything about her character, she was amazing. Looked great in the suit, excellent characterization, and someone to root for. I so want them to bring Sasha Calle back.
Not sure I can recommend this movie, but if anyone else here saw it I'd love to know what you all thought.

The Marvels: 6/10
This may have been the MCU's worst movie. I'm not saying I wasn't entertained by it or that I didn't enjoy it. I wouldn't even tell the people of this board not to watch it. Lord knows, those of us still ghosting around these halls have all done the homework for this movie. It's just, this doesn't feel like a movie to me. We had a bunch of different story threads smashed together and it sort of worked if you didn't think about it too hard. The casting was great. About an hour in I found myself getting lost in their chemistry, so that was a big plus.
In general, the movie had a lot of things going for it that ended up also going against it at some point later in the movie. Just an overall inconsistent presentation, even if the fun of the movie was never lost on me.
Pros: The cast as an ensemble *Iman Velani specifically as Ms Marvel The CGI The action Post Credits Scene: This technically doesn't count, but it was on the level of JK Simmons showing up at the end of Far From Home, for me
Cons: The narrative The villain The dialogue The costumes The generic score The CGI

The Polar Express: 7.5 / 10
There's a lot of magic in this movie I feel. Some of it really pulls at the heart strings. I would've rated it higher but there were some bizarre and jarring creative choices made in this adaptation that sort of ruined the moment, and it happened throughout the entire movie. Didn't ruin the movie for me, but just when I'd start to get lost in the wonder of it all Zemekis would throw in some random, goofy, tonally jarring joke and it'd take me out of it. Glad I finally saw the movie though. Had no idea Tom Hanks voiced like 5 or 6 characters in it. Wonder why that was?

Barbie: 9/10
I really liked this movie. The set design, the music, the casting and the dialogue was all great. You can tell they really put everything into this movie and I can see why so many people went out to see it. Standouts for me were Helen Mirren, Margot Robbie obviously, Ryan Gosling, and even Michael Cera. That guy was hilarious and he was used in a completely unexpected way. Funny thing is, everybody raved about Ryan Gosling's Ken stealing the show, but I actually thought it was a perfect balance and I don't think he outshined Robbie by any stretch.
The only aspect I didn't like so much was the daughter Sasha. She comes off to me as a bully, and as I saw it the movie tries to paint her as justified or at the very least relateable in most of the situations the movie presents her in. I'm willing to admit that after 1 viewing and minimal reading there's some stuff I'm missing. I think the basis of her anger is rooted in how Barbie as a cultural icon has impacted her mom and their mother daughter relationship, so there's grounds for some frustration. However, it's also clear that this little girl is mean to the other little girls at her school too and as someone who is smart enough to take Barbie down in as brutal a fashion as she does, it's clear to me that she's smart enough to understand that her *implied* behavior to her same age peers is also wrong. Sasha is a mean girl, a very mean girl. The movie makes her into a hero, and that was just a little annoying for me. That aside, she does seem to soften up toward the end of the movie, so there's that.
Anyone else see the movie? What did you all think?
