Thought it would be nice to start an Iron Man thread for the comics.
So,... I haven't read a lot of Iron Man, but I'm interested in reading a lot more of the post Extremis stories. Any suggestions?
I have read Extremis, The Five Nightmares, and some of Civil War: Iron Man.
Other than that, I've seen a lot of Tony in JMS's Spider-man run, which was around the time that Civil War was starting.

oh if you read five nightmares you MUST continue Matt Fractions run from there. i think its one trade now, but its titled Most Wanted. one of the best comics i have ever read. very gripping and doesn't ask you to be some expert on everything Iron Man very accessible. and then you just keep picking up the trades from there because they are all awesome. (stark disassembled)
then you can go baaaack in time and pick up Demons in a Bottle which is a comic about much more then just his alcoholism its the famous one, but if you want Tony's real failure with drinking you have to pick up like 5 different comics all involving Stane. its way to hard to get that story out of all the different trades.
and a story that really holds up i mean totally legit is Armor Wars. It actually invokes some "wo" moments. another long story in Iron Man's history. That's what is most impressive about Iron Man's history is that quality comes with long well paced stories. You aren't going to find an Iron Man story that is all that short.

Thank you. I still haven't forgotten about those Superman recommendations either, but it may take me a couple of weeks before I begin any of em. I'd like to write some sort of review to contribute for others.

This holiday season I added the Iron Man tpb entitled "Stark Resilient: Book 2" to my collection. It's volume 6 of Matt Fraction's run on the series. Pretty good. Fraction seems to have drawn some inspiration from OSC's book Ender's Game, but the story works well enough on its own. The books leading up to this one were also pretty darn good. Some of the best comics to come out of the 2000's for sure.
