the prequel to LOTR finally being made 2 moves no less. this is the first part and the first trailer has just hit. www.thehobbit.com/despite some of its kind of cutsy look the book is just as exciting as the trilogy. plenty of action and intensity among a great fantasy story of adventure and making your own destiny. while not as grand in scope its a great story and one of my favorite books. the staple of the book is how absent gandalf is and yet how much of an impact he leaves. in contrast to the staple of peter jackson and showing what gandalf does in his spare time. i do not expect any of it to go to waste considering the rumblings throughout the book is the darkness returning. we'll have a glowing eye in no time. i feel excited despite some of the trailers odd pacing and massive collection of clips. its all in line with the book. this is what established people to middle earth and hobbits. its quirky stuff and then gets deadly serious.

It looks like a fantastic return to form. Hate to say it, but as much as I respect the film trilogy, I never appreciated it as much as my friends. However, this next installment takes me back to my early days of movie mania. This is definately on my 2012 movie list.

Just saw it last night the 48 frames 3D. It was amazing really, I loved the whole thing and really by the end you want more and then you realize we have to wait another whole year for The Desolation Of Smaug. Great film guys.

I saw it in 2D, in the standard frame rate. I thought it was fantastic as well. Complete escapism for me.
