Not the movie, just the broadway musical.
I was on a long car ride and my parents had it playing and at one point I couldn't ignore it. It's amazing music. Phantom of the Opera is the longest running broadway musical and for good reason I think. It embodies ultimate theatrics and just runs on high emotions.
The story you've seen before with hints of beauty and the beast and king kong, but like the beauty and the beast song goes. tale as old as time.
what is different though is that the phantom is actually broken. He's spiteful and sad and angry and it comes through in the music.
It all comes down to the famous... theme, if you will.
I'm sure you are familiar
I'm not going to pretend the musical won't bore you, but I also can't deny how good the music is even if the 1987 rendition is a little dated.
