I should of done that when I was little. My parents shunned me so much for that kinda stuff it wasn't even funny. Until I was 9 i thought you got babies from praying and the stork. I had to wait until a health class to learn the truth. Why didn't they just fucking tell me? You know how emberassing that was? I should of went around crotch slapping! They also didn't tell me what a vagina was and i thought all girls were trans-sexual until I was like 7. When you find stuff out like that for yourself it messes you up. Makes you feel lied to.

Wow. We haven't used this thread in awhile.
Anyway, here's something I thought of awhile ago but want to hear what others think. During the Buu saga, after Goku and Vegeta removed Majin Buu from Super Buu and Super Buu turned into Kid Buu, why didn't Goku and Vegeta do the fusion dance to form Gogeta? Vegito was doing well before, so why not try the other fusion? It's been awhile since I watched those episodes so I can't remember if there was a reason for this, but what do you guys think?
On another note, it probably goes without saying that DBZ Kai ruins some of the best moments of the original. I usually find myself going to YouTube to find the clips for the true awesomeness.

kai is the original version. In terms of manga adaptation, yes, but I'm talking about the anime. It's just not as epic. Let's compare Vegeta's first Super Saiyan transformation: DBZ: Kai: "My heart is acceptionally pure. Pure evil..." How corny is that? Seriously, better lines and music (especially Vegeta's "Hell's Bells" theme). Now let's look at Gohan's Super Saiyan 2 moment, shall we? I think it speaks for itself. DBZ: Kai: One more: Trunks' famous Android/No! line: DBZ: Kai: Is the DBZ version a little over the top? Yes. Is it more epic than Kai's version? HELL YES. Need I go on? Now, does anyone have an opinion on my Gogeta question?

oh grow up. i admit vegetal becoming super sayian was more interesting in the first one, but it was too long. since it was redrawn its crisper and the color is better, but that's as far as i'll go with that. gohan turning SS2 was better in kai because it didn't have that overwritten dialogue in front of the bad enough ham fisted symbolism.
i also think that trunks's line in kai was also better. I always missed a few episodes as a kid so I have no emotional attachment to that scene. the kai version is simply better written. in the original it was too expositional.
hey i love the show as much as the next guy, but i don't see a big deal about it. As for your Gogeta comment its probably a plot hole. These characters are so overpowered and undefined that you can make a laundry list of power related plot holes.

So I've decided that throughout this summer, I will watch the entirety of Dragon Ball Z, something I haven't done in a long long long time. Starting May 1, I'll be watching 3 episodes a day, estimating to end by August 5.

Most of the DBZ I watched as a youngster was during the Frieza Saga, never really saw any Android/Cell/Buu stuff. Though I actually recently went back and rewatched Dragonball and Dragonball Z, and I gotta say, I actually strongly prefer original Dragonball. It just has a bigger sense of adventure and youthfulness that really carries you along for the ride. DBZ, as nostalgic as it is, to me was just a bunch of "AHHHHHHH"

Well my DBZ summer is over. Watched all 291 episodes, and finished ahead of schedule too. Worth it.
Thought I'd post this too since it's pretty cool:
