Yeah pretty much. I'm wondering if the anti-benders will become some huge thing that affect the whole world. Because as far as we know right now, they're only a small group in republic city

So, did any of you guys keep up with this? I just saw the first 3 episodes yesterday, although the first season is already finished. I like it, it looks like the world of bending has returned with a vengeance. I'm hearing great things from fans of the original series that ended just 4 years ago, so I look forward to seeing the remaining 9 episodes as soon as possible.

forgot there was a thread. didn't know anyone besides me and alien liked it. i guess i could discuss it with you. anything significantly good or bad for you right now? i believe at that point i was pretty much sold on Korra as a main character and Amon was growing on me as a better and better villain.

The last episode I watched entailed Bolin getting kidnapped, and Mako and Korra breaking into an Equalist rally/demonstration where Amon takes peoples bending away permanently. So far, I really like it. It's cool to see statues of various main characters from the previous series, even if it's sad they are gone now.
I'm in like/feel scared of how dangerous the world has become. When Ang was becoming Avatar, only a select few Firebenders could shoot electricity. Only Toph could metal bend. The only martial artists with the skills to take people's bending away were royalty from the fire nation, I believe. Now, all of these skills that were once advanced are shared by benders of average or slightly above average skill. Amon's henchmen are so crazy good at their anti-bending pressure point moves that they pose a serious threat to Korra, and they're not even benders! It's scary, it's such a stark contrast to the world that Aang grew up in. In that sense, I am kind of scared for Korra. I usually don't get this impending sense of doom when watching cartoons, but the backdrop for this show has given me that feeling.
But at the same time, it looks really solid. The Legend of Avatar was one of those rare few cartoon shows that I've seen in recent history that really hooks you and pulls you in. It was so incredible, and I'm excited to see where this new series is going. As of now, it looks like a fresh new direction that is able to reference the source and share some of its characters.
Last things last, J.K. Simmons is awesome. He can be over the top, he can be subtle, he can be in between. The contrast between him as Jameson and Tenzin is impressive.

I really have nothing to add to that. I think you captured a pretty accurate impression fans are having. Keep the thread updated. Once you finish we can start talking Season 2 ideas and possibilities.

J.K. Simmons is Tenzin? How is it that I never learn of these things until months later?
Anyway, you pretty much captured my sentiments at that point in the series. All I have to say is that it's quite a journey. And even though the ending wasn't entirely satisfying to many, it was still a fun ride.
