I saw the movie in theaters opening weekend, and that was it. I hardly remember the film, which says a lot about my feelings toward it I suppose. I think we all want these to be good. We know Bay isn't getting taken off of the project, so here's hoping he has some sort of artistic renaissance.

So rather than make a new thread, here are the movies I'm looking forward to next year by order of release:
Logan Kong: Skull Island Power Rangers Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Alien: Covenant Wonder Woman Spider-Man: Homecoming War for the Planet of the Apes Thor: Ragnarok Justice League Star Wars Episode VIII
This will probably be the most movies I've seen in one year. I'm gonna go broke. lol

I had forgotten all about Episode 8. Do we have a thread for Star Wars news on here? I was thinking we did, but I didn't remember

Once again BIB, our list is pretty much the same. Although, I'm extremely excited for Beauty and the Beast. I don't expect to like it half as much as the original. I hold the original as Disney's finest traditionally animated film ever. So, if it's half as good, then for me it's something to look forward to.
My list in order of most highly anticipated superhero movies will change as time goes on. For now, it's as follows:
1) Guardians of the Galaxy 2 tied with Thor Ragnarok. 2) Spider-man Homecoming 3) Logan 4) Wonder Woman 5) Justice League 6) Lego Batman
Of the non superhero films, my list goes as follows: 1) War for the Planet of the Apes 2) Star Wars: Episode 8 tied with Beauty and the Beast 3) Alien: Covenant 4) Valerian: City of 1000 Planets 5) Kong: Skull Island 6) Power Rangers

That'll probably be good, especially with Emma Watson as Belle. I'm just not into this craze Disney's going through with making live action versions of their beloved animated films.

My most anticipated: 7. Lego Batman- this will be cute and it will be good bonding time between me and my nephew 6. Wonder Woman- I know little to nothing about Wonder Woman and it will introduce me to her more officially 5. Justice League- Hopefully they get this right 4. Thor: Ragnorok- I love me some Thor! Plus, Thor vs. Hulk? Heck yes! 3. Spider-Man: Homecoming- Spidey's my favorite superhero ever. The costume looks spot on accurate and they even got the spidey signal and the wings right! 2. Star Wars Episode VIII- I love Star Wars. No explanation necessary 1. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2/Old Man Logan- This is a tie. Both trailers are flawless and perfect at pumping you up
My least anticipated: 5. Beauty and the Beast- Eh. Live action Disney is just a trend to me 4. War for the Planet of the Apes- see King Kong reasoning 3. Power Rangers- looks lame to me 2. Kong: Skull Island- King Kong is so over done. I don't find it interesting enough to go see another movie of it 1. Transformers: The Last Knight- Not gonna lie, I'll still go see it though

After seeing the new Spider-Man trailer, Logan is now tied with Star Wars for number two and Spider-Man is now tied with Guardians as my most anticipated haha

So lopli, I have to ask you: have you seen Rise of the Planet of the Apes, or Dawn of the Planet of the Apes? Rise looked like it was going to be 'eh', and then it came out. Andy Serkis became a topic of discussion for getting some sort of awards recognition for his work in the mocap suit as Cesar. He's literally the strongest argument for people getting awards recognition for their parts in film using motion capture. Dawn took everything good about Rise, tripled down on it, and lost the James Franco aspect. It's one of 2014's all out best films.
I hope Kong is fun, but seriously, if War for the Planet of the Apes is as good as Dawn, then it will be one of 2017s best films. No question about it. The only comparison is that apes are in both films. Other than that, I imagine it'll be like comparing Gordy to Babe.
So with regard to the Spider-man trailer... I loved certain aspects, and then there were other things I wasn't thrilled about. Not thrilled to see Vulture going after Peter's friends and family. I don't mind the idea, but I dunno. Been there, done that, sort of thing with MJ ad nauseum, you know? The Guardians' and Logan's trailer set a really high bar for me. For all I know, Homecoming may end up being just as good as the other 2, maybe better. I just wasn't feeling the trailer as a compilation of footage. Love Tom Holland as Spider-man tho, and that bank robbery foil was what I've been wanting to see in a Spider-man film since I started reading more comics!

Do you mean the Michael Bay remake with Mark Wahlberg and Michael Clark Duncan, or Rise of the Planet of the Apes?
To be honest, I've seen the original one time. I was still in elementary school, but I don't remember what year. I do remember enjoying it very much, but it's not something I've gone back to or anything. Judging this franchise as its own thing tho, I think it's a fantastic re-imagination. They eventually want the franchises to connect. For me, I'd be totally fine if they didn't. I've heard that the movies from the original series got kind of campy as they went on. The new franchise gives us stuff like this:
I am so pumped for this movie. Tell you what tho, this trailer underwhelmed me too! Darn it Logan and Guardians' trailers! Did you have to be so damn perfect?!? I'm more confident in this one being good than I am in Spider-man (which I have a ton of confidence in), and the trailer was pretty good. However, I think the movie is going to blow minds, and this trailer, for me, didn't take my breath away.

The Michael Bay one. I never liked either of the other ones I seen enough to check out future installments, but I'm open minded to give one a chance. If I started off with the new one when it comes out, would it make sense, or would I need to watch previous ones?

Rise is good, but Dawn is great. However, to have a full appreciation of Dawn, you'd have to know a thing or 2 about Rise. I'm telling you lopli, this remake is one of the few acceptions to the rule. They're special due to Andy Serkis

performance and the directors' vision, for bother films. You'll definitely wanna see the series order if you ever. Check it out. I know you never put much stock in rottentomatoes, but people's reactions there are a testament to the series quality thus far.
*Sorry for the double post.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is one of if not my favourite movie that came out in the last few years. It's nothing short of amazing!
