I'm honestly surprised they put Fant4stic on there. I figured they'd want to bury it deep. I rewatched X-Men Evolution a few months back. It's honestly my favorite of the X-Men cartoons. But I really enjoyed Wolverine and the X-Men too, and I see it along with Avengers: EMH and Spectacular Spider-Man as a golden trifecta for Marvel animation. On another note, at some point I really need to rewatch the 90's Spidey show too.

I've only saw the CinemaSins video for Fant4stic, not the actual thing. I may try to see if I can stomach the real thing one day soon XD

So I just finished binge rewatching season one of Batwoman. Nothing probably could have stopped Ruby Rose leaving the show, and I still think it would have been simpler to just recast. But since they did decide to just write out Kate Kane, I have to ask why couldn't they just promote another character to the series lead? Sophie would have been a good choice, becoming fully immersed in the batworld and having a stake in finding Kate, and Julia could have worked too. Hell, even the Parker Torres character would have been an interesting choice; she looked up to Kate and having a teenage hero would not only give it a Batman Beyond vibe but would also set it apart from the other Arrowverse shows. Any of these would give me more faith in season two than bringing in an entirely new character simply to fill Kate's spot and interact with her supporting cast.

Hey all, it's been awhile! How have y'all been holding up during these strange, strange times? I actually caught the virus and so did my parents. My mother and I are fine but dad is still hospitalized. I just got released from quarantine, I haven't left my house in almost 2 weeks

Sorry to hear. I mean, I was seeing it on Facebook and stuff, but figured you'd be the one to share it here if you shared it at all. Wishing your father the best of health and recovery from this thing. I'm glad you're doing okay man. I'm doing okay, as is my wife. Teaching 7th graders on Zoom is challenging, but I feel that the district I am in is pretty progressive in terms of using the technology. Every child has had been issued an ipad for the last 3 years, so our transition to distance learning hasn't been as jarring as district's that still have computer labs. It's still different though. Like, when we're in class and not using the ipads I make it a point for the kids to keep them in their backpacks. Now, they're at home and doing who knows what off camera. I can see some of them looking suspicious and trying not to laugh hysterically on camera at times, and you just know there's a party going on off camera or on another device they're concurrently using. I'll say this though, I'm being forced to pay a lot more attention to every child's forehead than I have ever before! It's fantastic! How are you doing Webber?
Also, is anyone watching the Fandome events today? The Suicide Squad panel is on right now. I really liked the Gotham Knights preview and also the new Wonder Woman trailer
Update: The Suicide Squad behind the scenes look, looks fantastic! I'm officially excited for it!

I had some extra money left over so I decided to splurge on some Batman stuff. I got Year One and Killing Joke animated movies. Also picked up Dirty Harry and The Shooter. If I'm gonna primarily be stick inside, might as well enjoy it
Dad is doing little better, but still sedated. Just keep praying for him

So good to hear from you two!
I'm very sorry to hear that Lopli, wishing your dad a full and relatively swift recovery! Glad to hear your mom and you are doing fine.
Also glad to hear your school is managing to power through this rather smoothly, Excellent! I have a few teacher friends who have been through a lot of stress these past few months to make things work in these strange, strange times.
I've been doing alright given the circumstances, managed to stay healthy (so far) and been able to work from home. Obviously, like everyone, I miss a lot of what used to be normal, but I feel very fortunate to be in a position where my physical health and income haven't been affected too negatively.

I've been learning some new stuff on guitar. I learned three songs by the band CKY and I learned the solo to Square Hammer by Ghost. I'm primarily a bassist, but guitar is fun too

That's awesome man. While I don't play myself, I've been enjoying bass channels on YouTube like Davie504 (a humor channel, but the guy can really slap) and Juliaplaysgroove (only covers, but darn good).
It has been nice to get a few MCU updates as of late. Recently read an article from an interview of the Eternals director. She talked briefly on going bigger than "Avengers Endgame". While this is something that was brought up several months ago before Hollywood shut down, I think it's an interesting point to touch on. Namely because it's a ridiculous statement that's surprisingly achievable.
I'll start with and only speak momentarily on the obvious. There is no going bigger than Avengers Endgame. No other franchise has ever had universe ending ramifications. Star Wars all happens within a Galaxy Far Far Away. Avatar is dealing with a couple different planets. The reach of the Alien franchise may encompass the known universe, but never had universe ending ramifications. Lord of the Rings happens on a fantastical version of Earth. Endgame dealt with UNIVERSAL problems. So being the first franchise to do this aside, there is no going bigger than the universe (unless you're talking multi-verse, but we've had no news to suggest this is the case). Endgame also has time travel, and a cast that spanned 8+ different franchises.
To close I'll talk about why the statement that Eternals is going bigger than Avengers isn't so ridiculous. In spite of the event nature of Endgame, the movie did manage to feel small. They found a way to focus on just the core avengers, and the first two acts dealt with just them exclusively. In fact, the first 40 minutes took what Dawn of the Planet of the Apes did in its opening minutes where they had zero dialogue and just showed the apes hunting together using sign language, and they showed the world post snap to be a quiet, somber, just getting by kind of place. So, going bigger than that in terms of what's happening on screen won't be hard to do. In that respect, I can buy what they're saying. In the "What If" thread, I shared what I thought would've been a cool alternative to the beginning of Endgame. There I said that it would have been neat to visit different planets across the universe, and see this melancholy montage of how they would have to pick up the pieces after the Snap. I still think that would've been cool, but with Eternals, I think there's an opportunity to do something similar. Imagine a Pixaresque opener where in just 4 minutes, you get attached to this cute new world, only to see it be wiped out because it's not meeting expectations. Then, it's onto the next, and the next, etc. You see entire star clusters start to fade out. Then, you see the Eternals arrive on a young earth. A celestial shows up, too large for the eyes to take in. The title card shows up, "Eternals".
Either way, I'm excited, and I am rooting for this movie to be every bit as large in scope as they are touting it to be. Here's hoping.

Considering she's around your age (maybe a couple years younger) I suppose I can understand where you're coming from. Especially considering you two have the bass connection, haha. Seems like a sweet kid, go for it Dylan, you never know!

There's been so many updates on Spider-Man the last 48 hours. Do we even post them all or just wait? Heck if I know, but I gotta say... I'm so happy that Hollywood has started up again. Going on that 4 month movie news drought was rough. The world is a tough place man, escapism is important and was sorely missed.

I have this ritual of coming home and working in our home's half bath before entering the main part of the house, sans work clothes. You know, cleanliness protocols for the baby amidst these trying times. Every time, I tell myself, "Don't go inside the house until you've finished your work" but often, hunger overtakes me and I find my way inside the main part of the house. Every time I do this, without fail, I am asked for an opinion that always leads to a disagreement and a big fan fare and grand apologies. The whole 9 yards really. We're at that point in my wife's pregnancy. I have tried to opt out of giving my opinion and just go straight to giving my blessing, but it never pans out. You know, I have to be "truly invested" and not just passively agreeing to decor decisions. I've tried pleading the 5th, stuffing my mouth with a hand full of chicken or some grainy snack, and then bum rushing the back door but that obviously never works. It's kind of a ridiculous scene when it comes to that, come to think of it *haha*.
The only thing that works is avoiding entering the house altogether until I've completed my work. Of course, that takes common sense, and that's something I'm in short supply of by the end of the work day. When will I learn? I hope this is amusing to anyone who comes across it.
