lopli's back! What's up? Anywho, I agree. I think the interviews that Sacha Baron Cohen did in character as Bruno (for advertising purposes) were funnier than the movie itself.
Oh, and I saw Mssion Impossible 3: 7.5/10 The emotional parts resonated more this time around. J.J. Abrams captured Tom Cruise's performance better than John Woo did. I actually felt for the characters, which was a first for this franchise.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows - 8.5/10
Very funny, very intense action, just over all very good. I admit, I was lost at times, but Holmes does explain things to the audience pretty often. I'd love to see this again on blu ray.

Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (David Fincher, 2011): 8/10
I'm not sure which was better, the Swedish version or this one, but this was a very good movie. I liked Noomi Rapace better as Lisbeth Salander, but I liked Daniel Craig better as Michael Blomkvist. The picture clarity was higher and cinematography was better in this one, but considering all the hype I've come across with respect to these Red EPIC cameras, I was expecting more.
I will say, however, that the opening credits with the weird black oozing graphics, was one of the coolest openings I've ever seen. It made me think, "This is how the symbiote needs to look in Spider-man if it's ever done again." Go see this movie if you can, it's good.

Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol 9/10 Not only has Brad Bird made the best Mission Impossible to date, he's made a film that should convert non fans into supporters. I haven't had this much fun at the movies since Rise of the Planet of the Apes. The spectacle of this film was just so fantastic. Whether it was Tom Cruise escaping from a Russian prison or free walling on the side of the tallest building in the world, or chasing a guy through a dust storm or throwing himself on top of cars in the most technologically advanced parking lot in the world, or...
the movie felt fresh and new. The IMAX cameras really do lend amazing picture clarity to the film, whether or not you see the movie in an IMAX theater. Mission Impossible beats Girl with the Dragon Tattoo in my book.

Twilight (I was forced to) 5/10 It's dreadfully boring.

^ Yeah, if you have to watch a Twilight, the first one should be at the end of the list.^
War Horse: 7/10 This movie must have been a labor of love. It didn't make my spirit soar, or my eyes tear up. I chuckled a bit and nodded with approval a few times. The WW1 stuff was nice for a change. I've seen Vietnam movies, WW2 films, Civil War and whatnot, but nothing on WW1.
Last: If I'd caught wind of the main character (THE HORSE) prior to the casting of Chris Evans as Captain America, I'da nominated him for the part. You look into that majestic beasts eyes and tell me you don't see a hero! I don't give a shit if he's British, HIS BLOOD IS MADE FROM MELTED OSCARS DAMMITT!!!!

Superman Returns - 6/10. Not a bad film, I think Routh and Bosworth were too young for the roles but they were okay, Spacey was pretty good casting as Luthor.

Chronicle: 9/10 Two of the three main characters die.
IMHO, this is the most unique superhero movie (it'd be more appropriate to call it a super powers movie) to come out since Kick Ass. Possibly since ever. I'm hesitant to say it's better than Kick Ass because they're totally different, but it's just so well done. Have you ever seen a movie where you felt like you were discovering something new in cinema, even though you weren't? That's the way I felt. I was given the sensation of flying, of having power, of being a teenage kid in Seattle.
It's great that in a year that will likely go down as the greatest year for the superhero movie, this amazing piece of film making kicks it off.

The Woman in Black - 7.5 A really fun movie. It looked really cool and the story was fairly interesting. Scares were a little predictable but still well done and freaky.
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou - 9/10 One of the few movies I've started without knowing a whole lot about it. I was pleasantly surprised. A very strange dramedy, but, IMHO, in a good way. I really enjoyed the style of humor and how quirky the whole movie felt. Bill Murray really stole the show too.
