Yeah, I guess they're making another one. www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/notyetamovie/news/?a=80367Written and directed by Don Mancini, the film concerns Nica (Fiona Dourif), a young woman grieving over the gruesome suicide of her mother when her domineering older sister Barb (Danielle Bisutti) arrives with her young family in tow to help settle their mother's affairs. As the sisters butt heads over Nica's plans for the future, Barb's young daughter comforts herself with a grinning, red-haired talking doll named Chucky (voiced again by Brad Dourif) that recently arrived mysteriously in the mail.
But as a string of brutal murders begins to terrorize the household, Nica suspects the doll may hold the key to the bloodshed. What she doesn't know is that Chucky has a personal score to settle. He's determined to finish a job he started more than 20 years earlier, and this time he's going to see it through to the bloody and shocking end.

The first three were enjoyable for me. The last two didn't seem worth my time. I agree with lopli. I think there's potential to do more with the series. Brad Dourif helped to sell the concept the first time around, that is, before the franchise pooped all over itself. Given some respect, I think there are definitely more stories to be told that are worth seeing as more than parody.

I don't know if I ever talked about seeing this. It's alright, as far as direct to dvd movies go. Apparently you get more from horror movies like this than you would from say, an action movie. Not always the case, but horror seems to be an entry point for some directors with talent who are trying to break out. Anyway, decent movie. 7/10. The special effects weren't as great as the first time around oddly enough, but the story was decent and the acting was very good and brought everything around full circle from the original.
Interesting side note: the lead actress is the daughter of the Chucky voice actor in real life.
