I gave it an 8 out of 10, which in retrospect is pretty high. Honestly, the movie took me for a ride. I don't plan on watching it again in theaters for financial reasons, but perhaps if I did I'd get a more down to earth opinion of it. Hell, a 7/10 is probably more fitting on my totally arbitrary scale of rating films. Of this movie, I'll say that it makes me want to see more of all the characters, which BvS did not.

The jokes landed sometimes, but none of the emotional scenes did for me. The characters exchanged three lines each and then we were supposed to believe they became BFFs. I get that they were in some sort of solitary confinement, but clearly they hadn't lost their social skills, so I feel that counter-argument doesn't really stand. Maybe I'm nit-picking, but I feel that was the only focus of the film - building group chemistry - and it didn't really cut it for me.

The more fan reactions I read, the more I find wrong with the movie. They aren't things I missed the first time around, but rather things that didn't matter so much to me in the moment. Sometimes when I go to a showing, I have a great experience with it that paints my perception of the movie's quality. Maybe the crowd is great, or the people I'm with are reacting a certain way, or I'm carrying something into the film from my own personal experience. I suppose this is one of those times. I mean, I gave it an 8/10 initially, which is what I've given to the likes of The Avengers... so yeah, my rating is kinda' askew. Maybe it was the crowd I was with, or maybe my super low expectations going in after all the bad reviews. At the end of the day, in spite of the mess it was, I really liked how it was trying to be its own thing. There's a lot of cliche things it does that other superhero movies do too, but something stuck with me.

I may be a little more overcritical, but I give it a 6.5/10. It had the right pieces with the characters, but it's really the story and pacing that had problems. I was still entertained though, and it's not as horrible as the critics make it out to be. I can't help but think they were trying too hard to be like Guardians.
I was expecting more Joker though considering how much hype was placed on him. It's like we just got a taste of Leto's potential, but it didn't allow us to immerse ourselves in his character. It also would have been nice for him and Affleck to interact, even if it was just for 30 seconds (no pun intended).

Without revealing major spoilers, just how much is Joker in the movie?

I can't tell exactly, but I think he has less than 10 minutes of screen time in a total of four or five scenes. To the others, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I think the problem with the Joker is that he's completely unnecessary. They could have removed him entirely and the film's cohesion would've stayed the same...not to say that it was coherent by any means, but I feel that his removal wouldn't have a significant impact on the movie.

Exactly. It's like Spider-Man in Civil War. Unnecessary, but still fun. But with Spidey, we got enough of Holland to at least get an idea of his character and compare to Garfield and Maguire. I saw that a lot of Leto's Joker scenes were cut though. That's most likely the problem. Honestly, I think he should have been the main villain instead of Enchantress. It would have added to the more grounded feel that was expected.

Yeah. I left enjoying what Leto was doing, but not actually liking it because I never got the feel for it. I read an article with 2 versions of the deleted scenes. One version makes Ayer's take sound less favorable. The article also says that allegedly, Ayer admitted that his cut for the movie wasn't received well by audience's either. The other version doesn't really seem better to me either.
