Suicide Squad movie coming 2016. David Ayer (S.W.A.T., End of Watch) directing. screenrant.com/suicide-squad-movie-2016-fury-director/So, Sony's Sinister 6 has competition now as it's not the only super villain team up film coming out that year. On the one hand, I'm more excited to see a film directed by Drew Goddard than I am a film directed by David Ayer. Ayer has some impressive work on his resume, but his latest has not been received too well, and I'm not sure that Fury is going to change that trend*. Meanwhile, all of Drew Goddard's work as a writer has impressed me, and his last writing/directorial piece Cabin in the Woods (co-directed/written with Joss Whedon) is fantastic. On the other hand, this is WB we're talking about. I think people have a lot more faith in the things to come from Warner than they do in Sony. The director won't matter, Sony has shown time and time again (to this day even) that they will interfere with the creative process. Sam Raimi being the writer/director of SM3 is the closest parallel you will ever get for this situation. Fingers crossed that both movies will be solid. *Fingers crossed for him though, I loved S.W.A.T and End of Watch.

Oh thank God it's not Gosling.

Gosling is great, but I feel that Leto is more fitting for the role. I'm interested in Gosling playing Iron Fist though.

See, I don't get the appeal of Gosling. He just seems like eye candy to me.

Well, I haven't seen him in some of his stranger films like Lars and the Real Girl, but he was great in Drive. Come to think of it, I don't know why Drive was so well received by everyone. That movie, entertaining as it was, flew right over my head. Be that as it may, he was pretty darn good in it. The strong, silent type. Let's not forget about his turn in Blue Valentine as well, which from what I've seen is his finest performance to date. He doesn't really disappeared into any of his roles though. Though that wasn't a problem for Jack Nicholson, I just don't see Gosling as any version of the character.

He was quite great in Drive. I like him but admit I've seen him in very few things.

I'm on board with a lot of these, even Will Smith as Deadshot. Somehow it just seems right. I only hope he doesn't use his pull to get his son a DC role. Jaden Smith as Static. *shudder* I'm on the fence about Oprah possibly being Waller though.

I will say Gosling was great in Lars and the Real Girl. Joker does seems like a weird choice for him though. I haven't seen much from Leto but, I guess we'll see how it all turns out. I can't say I've seen many of these guys in much of anything actually but, it looks very interesting.
