Kevin Feige describing Eternals as Jack Kirby, weirdness has me so jacked up. It's a cool concept, and for whatever reason I wasn't that excited for it before, but anything Marvel says is going to be weird has always delivered for me.

I'm excited that black knight is in this. It's the good guy version, right?

So far as I know, that hasn't been revealed. I'm unfamiliar with the character.

I was hoping it was his father, the evil version. He was in Masters of evil and it's usually a quartet of villains. That would give us zemo and black knight, then later on they could introduce radioactive man and absorbing man. Absorbing Man has been used on SHIELD.

I can live with that. At least give us a teaser trailer in the summer though.

Kumail Nanjiani's Response to Movie's Delay www.cinemablend.com/news/2554401/the-eternals-kumail-nanjiani-responds-to-the-movies-delay-and-wait-for-audiences-to-see-his-ripped-bodyI'm pretty excited for the possibilities this movie brings. As grand in scope as franchise's like Star Wars and the upcoming the Dune movie are, Eternals is essentially a universal movie. This isn't just one galaxy at stake here. This is existence itself. Toward the end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020 I watched the 90s Silver Surfer cartoon. You all will remember how I watched it initially for kicks. Some of the animation is pretty bad. If you give it a chance though, you'll see how it quickly becomes one of the most epically scaled cartoons Marvel has ever put out. It's kind of mind boggling how big that show went for being a Saturday morning cartoon. To think that Eternals could pull that off is just... wow.

Bump! I'm posting this here because there are 4 MCU films projected to hit theaters this year (yes, that's right!) and I thought it would be fun to acknowledge which of the 4 is my most anticipated. I'm posting here because Eternals tops the list for me.
1 Most Anticipated) Eternals 2) Spider-Man 3 3) Shang Chi 4) Black Widow
While Black Widow is my least anticipated, I am still very excited for this movie. I wish it had come out sooner. To be honest, 2016 would've been the perfect time for it. That said, I think this movie could have a lot to offer depending on how they treat Widows backstory. I'm not sure I'm entirely interested in the movie taking place in the year 2016 so much. However, if they can really help redefine the character in a way that builds on what we've already seen but adds some layers, I'm all in.
At times, Shang Chi is my most anticipated pick because it's the MCU's first Kung Fu film. I grew up watching Kung Fu movies with Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee, and then later Jet Lee. For the MCU to hint at a cosmic scale Mortal Kombat style tournament, man. I'm beyond hyped!
In any normal year, a Spider-Man movie tops my list of anticipation, especially when the rumors are what they have been. This movie would have made the top spot had Sony been able to close some deals and give us a trailer that confirms a Spider-verse. They did say they'd release a teaser before 2021, which they did not. So, since they haven't tho, my hype has been somewhat contained.
Members of the Eternals cast promise this film will be the most epic movie Marvel has produced. I spoke about the ludicrousness of this claim, and also the potential validity of it at length in another thread *wish I remembered which one* With writer-director Chloe Zhao garnering acclaim for her 2020 film Nomadland (Best Picture no less!), it's hard not to get excited for her addition to the MCU. They have had major success just about every other time they've collaborated with writer-directors: Joss Whedon (before he worked himself to death), James Gunn, and Taika Waititi. Although things didn't work out with Edward Norton, Edgar Wright, Patty Jenkins, and to a far lesser extent Joss Whedon, Waititi's current run of success along with the rehiring of James Gunn bodes well.
Also, of those mentioned, I'd say only Edward Norton and Edgar Wright count as "failed" collaborations since Jenkins left the project early on. For what it's worth, I'd still like to see a completed version of what Norton wanted to bring to the table and the same goes double for Edgar Wright.

www.comicbookmovie.com/eternals/eternals-new-promo-art-leaks-as-director-chloe-zhao-reveals-surprising-source-of-inspiration-a182636#gs.tmc1goSo The Revenant is a source of inspiration huh? From what Zao says, it seems she's referring to the cinematography. There was also the use of natural lighting, but I doubt they're chasing after that. If that over the shoulder immersive style is what they went for though, then I am even more hyped for what this movie has to offer. This movie, more than any other MCU film preceding it gives us the potential for Prometheus, in the MCU. Say what you want about that film's execution, the idea of it prior to release was incredibly exciting. We're talking about ancient genetic engineers seeding the universe. Imagine what that could be if done right? The cinematography of The Revenant, but in alien, prehistoric land? Even if it is Earth we're talking about, that's still pretty exciting. I will say, my wings are somewhat clipped by the fact that this movie spans 10s of thousands of years rather than millions or billions, but I digress. Exciting Sidenote: Chloe Zao's Nomadland is on Hulu now! That's the movie that landed her this gig in the first place.

Eternals May Be The Best Film Marvel Has Ever Made
Like the video says, we take this with a huge grain of salt. However, like early twitter reactions, this definitely doesn't hurt the hype. As of now, Eternals is still my number 1 most anticipated Marvel Studios film. We'll see what Spider-man 3's first teaser trailer does for me though.

I liked it, but I almost wish they didn't include that little tag at the end about Captain Rogers and Iron Man. Nothing about this besides the title card 30ish seconds in said this was a Marvel Studios film. This movie seems like an effort to expand on what Marvel movie can be. A lot of their movies do that, but this one especially has that type of energy to it. Gotta bring eyes to it though, that's the point of a trailer, so I understand why they put the tag in there. It worked, no doubt, as that must have a little something to do with this being number 1 on trending, which is cool. Go Chloe Zhao!
