Yeah. Thing looks strange to me in general. I don't mind so much that he has no thing.* He's a huge rock formation, stands to reason he would/could look different anatomically speaking. I'm just really bummed that the constant stream of negativity throughout this entire production may turn out to be completely warranted.
*Or that if he does have one, it's sort of hidden like a marine mammal.

Maybe it's because I've already made my mind up, but this trailer did nothing for me, especially compared to the last trailer almost making it look good. ALMOST. A few additional comments: 1. Once again, looks good for a sci-fi movie, not for Fantastic Four. 2. Really hate the fact that they're made into a black-ops team. 3. Calling it: Kate Mara will be the worst actress here. 4. What is it about Doom they just can't get right? Why do they always want to turn his skin into metal? He looks even worse this time around.

Maybe. Without knowing a lot about these characters (working on that), I like the people I'm seeing on Screen. Miles Teller's Reed Richards is someone I want to see in this movie, Michael B Jordan's Johnny storm is someone I want to see in this movie. Dr. Richards (the father of Sue and Johnny and mean) is also someone who I'm looking forward to. Fantastic Four movie or not, I find these guys compelling and I'd watch them in a movie regardless. As for Toby Kebbell, Kate Mara and the guy who's playing Ben Grim, I'm not sold yet. It's weird that Mara gets the blue contacts and goes even more blond in the climax of the movie. Seriously, what the hell? As a random side note, what the hell is wrong with Reed's teacher? I teach middle school and every now and then you get a gifted student who's a smart ass and is trying to use their intellectual prowess to disrupt the learning process. If it's a presentation and someone goes above and beyond, you praise them.
I still listen to Screenrant's podcast because they provide a lot of good insight into what's going on in the entertainment industry tv and movie wise. They also go to comic con every year and get into all the big panels, so they always have a good podcast summing up comic con. Listening to their podcast yesterday, they said some stuff about the Fantastic Four panel that sort of made me less optimistic. Prior to this last podcast, they've been optimistic about the film's potential given all of the talent behind it. However, now they're comparing the energy the cast had at this year's con compared to the other Fox panels, and even to themselves last year, and they say there's a really big difference in a bad way. The enthusiasm's gone apparently. Also, they claim that the rumors that have been circulating about Josh Trank are still going and getting stronger (not that I've noticed). There was no mention of a Fantastic Four 2 when Fox revealed their rollout, which is a another bad sign. To be honest, I still don't think this movie will be a train wreck. However, I also don't think it'll be an X-Men First Class or a Batman Begins situation either.
That said, I thought the following from Toby Kebbell was actually quite good. He came out and gave a description of his character that sounded pretty true to what he is in the comics. It's almost as though Fox caved from all the complaining a la Michael Bay's Ninja turtles movie and just went with the more comically accurate route. Or, Kebbell really mislead people in that interview he gave a while back where he says his character is a programmer/code writer and is called Doom online. Either way, it sounds as though Doom's characterization won't be as off the mark as many were fearing.

At 7 % on the Tomatometer: "Dull and downbeat, this Fantastic Four proves a woefully misguided attempt to translate a classic comic series without the humor, joy, or colorful thrills that made it great." To make this clear, this means this is not only the worse Marvel movie ever (and yes, that's including Howard the Duck), but it's even worse than Batman and Robin, Catwoman, and Dragon Ball Evolution. I had this made ahead of time, and I'm now proud to share it. Now let's see how it fares at the box office. They're projecting it to make $40-50 million this weekend. Let's make sure it's less than that shall we? I myself will be going to see Ant-Man again.

Trank apparently tweeted a tweet that in a de facto way lays blame on Fox. I usually side with director but Trank getting taken off of Star Wars has me in doubt.
So, what did you think of Antman?

Well I've already seen it and not going again til Sunday, but it's become my fifth favorite MCU film between Guardians and Iron Man 3.

There's an infographic going around the net comparing F4 to Antman. Antman lost its director, underwent rewrites and such weeks before production, yet it's doing a lot better than F4 given that movie's problems. To be honest, I don't think it's a good comparison. The difference is, everyone worked together to make sure Antman wasn't completely lost, there was unity. Trank and Fox clearly had issues that were never resolved.
Hollywood train wrecks can be entertaining to watch, but I can't say I'm enjoying this one. At the end of the day, you hope some of the early buzz was just buzz and not actually representative of what they wanted to do. While I sympathized with the worry that comics' first family wasn't going to be portrayed faithfully on screen (Doom in particular), I honestly didn't truly believe they would deviate that far. The containment suits didn't bother me, I was excited about Michael B Jordan as Johnny Storm and applauded the way he handled the backlash he was subject to. Here's hoping all the civil fans (you included BIB) are vindicated. This movie crashing and burning isn't vindication, it's just validation of what you all have been saying. Vindication would be getting a good Fantastic Four movie (which we still don't have), or some sort of respect in some medium.

If true, Marvel cosmic just got bigger. It's a good rumor though, timely too.

It's been debunked, but remembering the whole Sony fiasco last year with all the denials and the eventual deal, the rights could still go back. I mean, Fox does still have to show they believe in the franchise at least until the DVD comes out.

What can they do? Go for the sequel anyway as they (correct me if I'm wrong) planned? Have there been movies in the past that received such terrible reviews and still got a sequel?

Transformers, Pirates of the Caribbean, Fast and the Furious (the early sequels). It's not about the reviews though, as you know. This is one of Marvel's (I'm using the word as an umbrella for all Marvel related properties) biggest losses ever fiscally.
