So, I was reading Watchmen again and I noticed, in the picture he drew at age 13 about his dream. The freaky depiction of his mom and whatever man was there, fused together is very symmetrical, like a Rorschach pattern. Maybe another reason he chose the Rorschach gimmick? Is this something obvious that flew over my head or should I not feel dumb?

Ha, I thought Well, I feel dumb was the title of the book. As for your question, I honestly have no idea... In a matter of fact, I haven't even read the graphic novel.

don't even try webber. its like 30 levels beyond your reading level(which is zero)
and um, i never noticed that before. i know what your talking about exactly. it just never occurred to me that it was symbiotical like a rorschach test.
and he never really chose it. it just kind of fell into his lap.

Hey... It's not zero... It's around zero. There's a slight difference... I mean come on, it's -0.8.

No webber, your level is beyond classification. It's just too low to fall into any level.
Aaaaaanyways, the thing about his parents is debatable. It's not like an obvious fact or anything, so don't feel dumb. But I never...really thought of it that way. I always thought it was the reverse of what you described. Like...rorscharch saw those images in the ink blots. I guess that's the obvious answer. But it's an interesting thought

That has nothing to do with real intelligence

But it has to do with the reading level.

That has nothing to do with real intelligence It's like not knowing who bach is. Agatha christie is important to literature. And to think you gave me shit about not knowing one lousy beatles song.

One great WELL known beetles song. Waaaaaaaaaaaay different then not knowing agatha Christie. I can read and I probably have read more then you and webber combined. Not knowing a trivial fact does not judge ones intelligence.
Not knowing yellow submarine is like not knowing George washington.
Not knowing agatha crisitie is like not knowing why the sky is blue; who gives a shit.

Not knowing agatha crisitie is like not knowing why the sky is blue; who gives a shit. In fact, I think not knowing Agatha Christie is more like not knowing George Washington. Not knowing Yellow Submarine is like not knowing what's a fax. And I'm not sure how much you read, but you can't say you probably read more than Chaos and me combined... I can't say you didn't. It's not like you know how much we, or well I (not sure about Chaos), read. ...and who gives a shit for George Washington, now?

oh and as for reading. that was possibly an exaggeration i have no idea how much you or alien have read.
but i have read a lot of books.
all 7 HP books(even order of the pheonix). all 15 Guardians of Ga'hoole, all 13 Series of Unfortunate Events, all 7 Five ancestors books. all 3 Eragon books (these are some big books and great reads). The hobbit(very very good one of my favorites), 3/4ths of the first lord of the rings(i'm getting there!). Manhunt the biography of John Wilkes Booth (Lincoln's Assassin) Insanely good book, its non fiction(no duh), but its written so damn well that it feels like a great book of fiction. the paceing is up beat, the plot is intense, and the dialogue is great. and its all real stuff which makes it more awesome, but i digress.
Those are only the books i read because i wanted to. i left out all the ones i had to read for school and probably countless more books that i have forgotten that i read. Also this is not counting the many comics i own.
Am i the greatest reader ever? no, probably not even close, but i do have a fairly big reading history. I've even reread books. not many people do that.
now that i layed all that out, you've probably read like Moby Dick or something insane like that.
all i'm saying is that from my impression of you and alien "reader" is not something that comes to mind.

Yeah, I was putting the smiley... I know you Americans care more about American people than anyone else. oh and as for reading. that was possibly an exaggeration i have no idea how much you or alien have read.

If you don't count books I read for school, then you definitely beat me. It's just that even if I wanted to read any book for fun, I'd only have time in summer since we always have like 5-10 books to read per month since 7th grade. Some are nice, some aren't. Anyways, I don't see myself as a big reader either, it's just that I feel I'm reading so much all the time.

For most of my life, I wasn't really much of a reader, but for my last few years I've really gotten more into it. Some of my more recent reads include The Time Machine, and The rescue (nicholas sparks). I read at a pretty high level. I never really counted all the books I read, and I don't care to. But I am a pretty decent reader when it comes down to it.
And not knowing yellow submarine is irrelevant. It's like asking you to have heard of Mozart's Requiem. It's one of the most celebrated mozart pieces of all time and you hear it a lot. Yet you probably don't know it, now do you? I think knowing THAT is a lot more important than knowing yellow submarine.
And agatha christie isnt some obscure author. She's the greatest mystery writer of all time. Are the beatles more important? Maybe. That's not the point though
I'll also have you know that I don't listen to the beatles. Like, at all. One or two songs on occasion. I know where they came from, and what they did and all that, but I don't know their songs too well because I just dont listen to them
