Well, that's cool. The story is developing a little more each day isn't it? For example, there's this: Kevin Fighting is Reportedly in GOTG Vol.3 Director James Gunn's Corner at Marvel Studios www.comicbookmovie.com/guardians_of_the_galaxy/vol_3/kevin-feige-is-reportedly-fighting-gotg-vol-3-director-james-gunns-corner-at-marvel-studios-a162812As of now, it's a yet unverified rumor, but it's plausible. I still think he's going to be rehired. Leaving Gunn fired hurts Disney more than it helps it due to not only the precedent it sets (which may be the biggest hurdle they'll have to face going forward), but also due to the possibility of losing actors (with Bautista already threatening to quit), having to pay Gunn anyway, and having to then pay a new director on top of that. There are a lot of people who are opposed to Gunn in light of his tweets, but there's also a large number of people who are also pretty informed of the situation who are using this as a rallying cry to clap back at these sorts of smear campaigns.

I suppose this will give them time to regroup and figure things out. Gunn was going to be involved in a big way for the future of Marvel's cosmic stuff, so I imagine this is just one of many big ramifications of the decision to part ways.

It's kind of difficult to appreciate how much Alan Horn damaged Disney's image because he didn't take a couple minutes to do some research before taking such an important decision.

Stan Lee Has Passed Away www.comicbookmovie.com/comics/marvel_comics/marvel-comics-legend-stan-lee-has-reportedly-passed-away-at-age-95-a164693It's with a heavy heart that we all see this news, I'm sure. The man's creations have captivated my imagination since the beginning of my earliest memories. In elementary school kids would run around pretending to be the x-men or spider-man, amongst Power Rangers and Ninja turtles. In middle school I played hours upon hours of the classic PlayStation Spider-Man game with his narrations. Raimi's first Spider-Man brought me into my obsession with movies. In high school I spent much of my free time trying to make an X-Men movie for over 2 years. In college I saw the beginning of Marvel's movie domination, and now superheroes have permeated all of Hollywood. In a way, it's kind of nice that Stan got to see his work is at the height of its popularity. I wish he could've seen Avengers 4, but then I would've always wanted his take on the next Marvel movie (even if it was always positive, regardless of how the good the movie turned out to be). It's never easy to see a legend go. So, thank you Stan. Not enough can be said. May you rest in peace.

Kathleen Kennedy Cites a Lack of Comics and Novels for Star Wars www.comicbookmovie.com/sci-fi/star_wars/making-a-star-wars-film-is-difficult-due-to-a-lack-of-comics-and-novels-says-lucasfilm-president-a171739I can barely qualify myself as even a "casual" fan of Star Wars. My lack of memory for even the basic plot points of the original trilogy, the early 2000s prequels, and even the current generation of films is embarrassing. Even so, I can't believe she would actually say what she's saying. For many people, Marvel isn't their thing, but it's undeniable that Feige's insane wealth of knowledge for the lore is a major component of the MCU's success. How can Kathleen, the President of Lucasfilm (!), not know that there is in fact a ton of lore they could've at least drawn inspiration from? This is why no one should be surprised that Disney won't be putting Star Wars films out for a while. Meanwhile, the Mandalorian has been a lot of fun.

Very curious why she'd say something like that... But honestly, I'm fine with Star Wars movies being these once-in-a-few-years events.

I don't know why I put this in the news thread. I actually tried to delete it and was going to repost it in the Race thread, but was unable to.
