Rocket looks FANTASTIC. There are pieces in that clip where he looks completely real, no CGI at all. It's some of the best CGI I've ever seen, which is weird because some parts of the trailer showed a very CGI'd looking face for Drax. Don't know why that is, but Dave Bautista's make-up/tattoos look excellent. Especially in that image above.

I dunno, it feels like an honest trailer for the Transformers films. But hey, it sure does look like fun.

I'm not sure I follow you on that. I agree that it looks fun. I don't think it'll be deep or anything, but it looks pretty darn unique. The color palette of the film is gorgeous. Dark, yet vibrant.

I just meant that I'm afraid it's going to be too shallow. But yeah, I definitely agree on the way they use colour saturation and contrast; it really makes the film stand out in its own way.

100% on the Tomatometer! Let's enjoy that while it lasts.

I knew it had potential, and I know that the 100% won't last, but I have to say I'm surprised by such a unanimous praise for the film, albeit early.

The first bad review isn't so bad. The critic simply doesn't feel the movie is that funny or fresh. I've seen worse reviews honestly (in terms of petty nitpicking), and though this guy doesn't exactly come off as unbiased, it could be worse. Still though, his own irreverence toward the idea to take the concept seriously and make a worthy space adventure from it is a little frustrating. Maybe that's just me though, I like to think that we can take something silly, and with a lot of passion turn it into something worth while. Look at Planet of the Apes, and what Matt Reeves' ferocious devotion to the premise, produced there. Look at the entire superhero genre, which, up until a few years ago people were still arguing should not even be considered a genre. People have been questioning when audiences would get tired of them. Like the genre or not, some seriously good movies have come from many "silly" concepts. It's time to stop smirking at *ideas, and place the emphasis of a review on actual execution, how that made you feel as a viewer, etc.
*Unless the ideas are condoning exploitation, inequality, or something else in that league of bad.

I've seen it twice now. It certainly deserves all the praise it's getting. Honestly, I'm really just processing all the awesomeness, and a lot of the songs in the movie are stuck in my head. I loved the characters and all the action.
