Yeah, same here. This movie has a sense of wonder about it too, whether it's wonderment over its characters (Groot in particular) or location.

Also, it's the first movie that actually inspired me to go and buy the soundtrack. There isn't even a score on it, just the music that's sprinkled throughout the movie. That's saying something, although I wouldn't recommend going out and buying it per se. It's all good music though.

Oo-ooh child, things are gonna get easier... oo-ooh child things will get brighter!!! lol Love that soundtrack.
I saw GOTG for my third and final time in the theaters, and man, I have talk about how much I love that movie. Its gotta be my favorite movie this year. While Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 were (for me) Marvel Studios' biggest disappointments, Cap 2 and Guardians really stepped it up and now hold the top 2 positions in my top 3 MS movies. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is still, IMO the best film of the summer season, and will for me remain one of the best all around movies of the year. That being said, Guardians has a sense of fun to it that I haven't felt at a movie theater since... I can't remember. Cap 2 may be a better movie overall, but Guardians is definitely (again, for me) the most fun I've had watching a Marvel movie, period. Here's the thing, I saw the movie on opening night, then again in Vegas (in the center of the city mind you), and then yesterday, and every single time the theater was packed with overjoyed audiences. Even in Las freaking Vegas. The music, the Chris Pratt introduction in the title card, the packaging of the story, the sincerity of it all... it's a very tight, very well put together movie. The movie has been out in the US for 2 weeks now, and while heavy hitters like Let's Be Cops, Hercules, Step Up, and TMNT have all come out recently, and it's still doing its thing.

Guardians of the Galaxy is now the top domestic film of the summer, and amazingly, it's #1 at the box office this weekend (after being bumped out of the top spot for 2 weeks by the turtles); this being it's 4th weekend out of the gate. www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/JoshWildingNewsAndReviews/news/?a=106493As is usually the case, there are easily identifiable reasons as to why this has been possible, but that's still pretty damn impressive. I think Marvel counted on this being successful, but lately I think their movies have been performing just a little higher than projected. There is a lot to talk about here. TMNT is doing okay, all things considered, but Sin City 2 and Expendables 3 bombing at the box office were (though possibly predictable) factors. I guess I'll leave it at that, since this is a Guardians thread.
