Damn, I was pretty bummed when I learned that Affleck stepped down from directing, but Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is one of my favourite movies in recent memory. This might be good!

Agreed, he was actually the first name that came to mind when I thought about people who could potentially take over. Mostly because I don't know of that many directors and I'm really pumped up for War for the Planet of the Apes, but still. How cool is this?

I've never been hopeful for DCEU. I think I might as well write the script myself at this point. As spoiler happy as they are, it wouldn't surprise me if they start putting the after credits scenes in the trailers. lol

At this point, only Marvel's done that...kind of. You remember the Tony Stark cameo in Incredible Hulk? They showed it in commercials leading up to the release, and though it actually showed before the credits, it was essentially meant to be a post-credits scene.

I second Webber's motion that you could, nay, should, stick around if you're up for it. About the current topic, I'm super bummed about Reeves being out of contention. I think he could've done something wild with the franchise. You know what I think is crazy? They're offering Mel Gibson the keys to Suicide Squad 2. Mel Gibson. It doesn't seem his type of movie at all, but what if he did The Batman? A standalone Batman film seems to be much more his cup of tea than Suicide Squad. I doubt he'd do it off of Chris Terrio's script because he's the type of guy who has a very singular vision of what HE wants. However, if they can't find a director to go with Affleck's script, why not let a true thespian come up with their own vision and see if Affleck can be on board with that? Gibson was the one who said Batman v. Superman sucked, but I could totally see him using the Batman mythos and putting his own stamp on it. Hell, if the script goes, maybe they can approach Reeves again. Sometimes talks break down, but nothing is set in stone just yet. Now, if Reeves is truly done, I'm okay with that too. If War for the Planet of the Apes is really good, he'll become like a Nolan type for me, where I just want to see what he does next.

What if WB asked Fox to show them his current cut of WOTPOTA and then changed their minds? If that movie pulls a Civil War, the hype train is going to be on rocket fuel. By that I mean, Civil War successfully followed up a sequel (Winter Soldier) that was better than the original (First Avenger).

Wasn't it referenced in Suicide Squad that Robin was killed? So will this film be a prequel to Suicide Squad, maybe? Or was the Robin that got killed a different one?

Robin's suit was on display in the Batcave in BvS and Harley's "info-graphics" listed that she was an accomplice to his murder. As for which one, it was pretty much confirmed it was Jason Todd. I'm pretty sure (and hoping) both Batman and Nightwing films will be in the present and after Justice League. I've been hoping that Tim Drake is brought in and becomes the new Robin, so Dick being there would lead to his blessing.
