Why though? Wouldn't it be better as a standalone at this point? The DCEU got messier than the X-Men Universe in like half the time. And the fact First Class was so far removed from other X-Men movies contributed to its awesomeness if you ask me.

Yeah. I trust Matt Reeves, and Pattinson has done a lot to move past his Twilight days. It was the direction and the source material that made the Twilight series so bad. Even academy award winning actors have been in some stinkers where their performances didn't make any sense. That said, I'll just resign myself to never getting a Karl Urban Batman.

I agree with Excellent. Remember when Internet bros hated on Leonardo DiCaprio because of his role in Titanic as Jack, the handsome desperate romantic that teenage girls were raving about? He's done a lot to distance himself from that archetype since, from a macho billionaire in the Wolf of Wall Street, to a beastly man literally getting mauled by a bear and crawling his way back to life in the Revenant. Now don't get me wrong, Titanic is a great movie unlike Twilight, and Leo was already a decorated child actor before 1997, but I'm just saying Pattinson deserves a chance.

Yeesh, I'm really bad about updating this thread. Well, let's get started. The cast alongside Pattinson: Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman Paul Dano as Riddler Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon John Turturro as Carmine Falcone Andy Serkis as Alfred Colin Farrell as Penguin Batsuit and Batmobile While we haven't gotten an official full body shot of the suit yet, both it and the Batmobile look good as early versions. Plus, it's kinda nice that the Batmobile looks like a car again. Lastly, the release date has been pushed back to October 1, 2021: www.superherohype.com/movies/480575-the-batman-the-flash-shazam-2-get-new-release-datesThe more I hear about the film, the more I get excited. I still question if it will really be in the DCEU but it hardly matters at this point.

I loved his Planet of the Apes movies, super excited to see what he has in store for us here. Glad you stopped by BIB. Hope all is well!

For a teaser, I'm intrigued. The realism reminds me of Nolan but has its own flavor. And it looks like Riddler will be the main villain.

I'm getting some strong Nicholas Winding Refn vibes. I dunno if his films were at all an influence for Matt Reeves here, but I really, really am into it.

Holy shit. Pattinson may be the most intense Batman yet.

I was telling a friend that it's as if they took inspiration of those parodies of the Nolan's Batman. The ones where Batman is killing and hospitalizing everyone, but thinks they're just sleeping. Matt Reeve's is just like, "Let's do that version of Batman, but let's not do it for laughs, and in our version Batman actually wants to hospitalize everyone." To follow in the footsteps of everyone else who has commented on this trailer already, "It's not just a call, it's a warning." BTW, that Bat signal is awesome.
People are super hyped for this movie. The first trailer went a long way in getting people on board with Pattinson, and this trailer certainly built the hype. It looks awesome.

The vintage esque bat mobile looks killer. Getting old school muscle car vibes from it!

Anyone else see it yet? While there was a lot to unpack from a near three hour movie, I loved every minute of it. It's so different from every other Batman that came before but still felt true to the mythos. I can't wait to see where Reeves takes this universe next.

Yeah, I gave it a rating in the ratings thread. I loved it too. That first shot of Gotham City was gorgeous. I can't get it out of my head, so beautiful. Great movie.
