Reminds me of the dude with the flaming head from the game Twisted Metal.

So, episode 3 just might be the best episode of this series... ever. For me it's a favorite. The story was on point, the acting worked, and the action was fantastic. They've really upped their game with regard to fight choreography. I don't know if this is because of that new 10pm time slot that they're taking advantage of, but whatever it is, I'm loving it (back of McDonald's). Funny enough, the kid from Fear the Walking Dead plays Ghost Rider's little brother, and this episode felt a lot like Fear the Walking Dead.

I was never that into Ghost Rider. Nothing wrong with the character, the guy just didn't appeal to me. That is no longer the case. Love this version of the character. Also, the origin of Robbie Reyes Ghost Rider was done very well on the show. There's a car accident whose special effects are super top notch. I was actually blown away. Watch the scene on Youtube if anyone has posted it. It's movie quality. I definitely think the actor and character are compelling enough to have their own show, but to be honest, I think he's doing wonders being in Agents of Shield. I'd rather him stay there for a while.

Anything is possible. It depends on how Marvel Studios' relationship with their tv division. There's a lot of variables going into it. However, if the character gets popular enough in the main stream through SHIELD and the fan demand is high enough, you never know. Money moves mountains.

Maybe Infinity War?

For my money (which isn't much on a teacher's salary), I'd bet no. However, I wouldn't be surprised if they brought Clark Gregg's Phil Coulson back. He's the only one on Agents of Shield who truly deserves a spot in Infinity War. I whole heartedly disagreed with his 'death' in the first Avengers film, and still do to this day. Now, if any of the Netflix characters show up in Infinity war, I actually think Disney would use Iron Man and Spider-man as the gateway. Iron Man connects Spidey to the Avengers, and Spidey connects the Avengers to street level vigilantism. I'd much prefer that Coulson connect the 2 though. It's more in his wheelhouse. The last 2 episodes of AOS have been really exciting tho, and I'm really looking forward to this week's midseason finale. People have been talking about how the movies have no connection to AOS any more, and vice versa. Or to be more accurate, the claim is that the connection is superficial or inconsequential. A connection only in name. I'm talking ScreenRant's underground podcast and the people affiliated with Collider. To that I say, "not so fast". Take last weeks' episode. It's easily the biggest rebuttal to all that talk, next to Ghost Rider himself of course. In that episode, Coulson, Robbie Reyes (new Ghost Rider), and Agent Fitz were all ghosted with these ghost box things. Possibly the same as the ones in Warren Ellis' Astonishing X-Men run, but that's beside the point. Anyway, the Ghost Boxes put them out of phase between our universe and another reality. To come back, Agent May calls on the magical book of Infinite wisdom. The book was brought into the fray with the introduction of the spirit of vengeance and his plot line. Anyway, it's too powerful for a human to use, so they get an android (who's identity as an android is a secret because of Ultron and the Accords) to read it. This android then constructs a portal using the exact same 'effin orange energy in Dr.Strange to bring Coulson and Fitz back. Moments before Coulson and Fitz can come through the portal, Coulson starts getting pulled into the MIRROR DIMENSION! They even closed out the episode with the Android creating a human brain from the Dr.Strange magic she was accessing. Reyes ended up coming back into our realm by invoking the power of the Rider, who had left him to avoid getting pulled out of our Earth's realm, but then returned upon striking a deal to possess Reyes forever. I about lost my s### when all that stuff that happened tho. Best movie tie in EVER!

I like that the tie-ins are subtle. If it pulled from the movies too much, then they'd have to explain why the events of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D weren't talked about in the movies, because the more they pulled from the movies, the less sense it would make for them not to acknowledge one another exclusively. For instance, let's say they used an Avengers baddie on the show that they thought wasn't cool enough to make it into a movie. Then they'd have to explain why the heroes didn't know about it or why it wasn't mentioned. Does that make sense?

Not a confusing word in there my friend. The subtlety is fine tho, I agree on that it is better that way. I just think that sometimes people read further into the rift between Marvel's tv and movie division than need be.

So, SHIELD is back. Two episodes in since the winter tv break. It's okay, the LMD stuff is working out. I miss Ghost Rider tho. Never thought I'd say that about SHIELD.

I suppose. They're trying to push this new villain, the Superior. He's only spoken about, we've never seen him. I like this show, but it's just something I do at this moment. I'm not crazy hyped to watch it every week, so I can't give it a super high recommendation. That said, I still do catch it on the weekends through Hulu.

Speaking of Hulu, is it worth trying free for a month, or would Netflix be a better bet? I'm just wondering what the difference in content is.

Sorry, man I just realized that I never answered your question. I think Hulu is worth it. There's not a whole lot of cross over content. Also, Netflix is pushing its own original content a lot more these days that's exclusive to Netflix. I'd recommend getting both, or just sharing an account with someone so it's cheaper.
So, I just watched the latest episode of AOS. The show is currently on a break, but it's a great cliff hanger to keep you hungry for the final stretch of the season. They're totally doing robots better than Age of Ultron did, but they have a lot more time to do so.

I'm really looking forward to this final arc of the season. Without spoiling too much for anyone who hasn't watched, it's going to be interesting to see the first "alternate reality" of he MCU. In preparation, I've rewatched Winter Soldier and reread House of M (since it also kind of deals with a reality where the heroes got their heart's desires).
