Spidey looking jacked for Uncharted. Wonder what they'll be going for in this next one. He's technically still in high school for it, right? I gotta imagine they'll still want a trim, lean Spidey like the last 2. Even if he's not in school? On another note, I'm sort of bummed about that actually, I liked that part of the news series, the kids being such a big part of it I mean.

I recall them saying the plan was for it to be set in Peter's senior year.

Do you guys think we'll ever seem Mr. Negative?

It's a possibility because Marvel really seems to be pushing villains we haven't seen yet. I never really kept up with Mr. Negative in the comics, but I liked him well enough in PS4's, "Marvel's: Spider-Man" game.
I just keep hoping for John Wick style Spider-Man: Spidey vs. EVERYBODY, starting in NYC and then spanning the globe. Then again, international Spider-Man was the last movie, so maybe they won't wanna do that. I dunno, Mission Impossible does the international thing in every movie, so who's to say Marvel wouldn't want to put their next Spider-Man film in that globe trotting type of scenario again. He's not a spy, but he could be put in a "never ending chase" type of scenario where it makes sense that he's always moving. They did it for their 2008 Hulk movie, so who knows.

Rumors seem to imply Spiderman is on the run trying to clear his name. People are also saying Kraven is the villain. I'd take any of that with a grain of salt because it seems to be based off a supposed plot leak from months ago. Considering they havent even started filming (I dont think?) how would someone know that much information? I want it to be true because it sounds amazing. They also reported either She-Hulk or Daredevil will be his lawyer.

Yeah, I like the rumors for this one. I was excited for the last two, but this one has me excited on its own merits. Like, with Homecoming it was the first Spider-man in the MCU. With Far From Home, it was an epilogue to the Infinity Saga. However, the way that one ended just begs for a sequel on the same level that Raimi's Spider-Man 2 did in 2004. They've gotta stick the landing on this one though, they just gotta! *says earnestly*
My mind keeps going to like, Mission Impossible, for this one. For example, like the operatives in the Mission Impossible series, Peter has also got access to a global defense and intelligence network. That doesn't make him invincible. Every one of those films has found a way to make Tom Cruise and company vulnerable, and they've done it well. I see no reason why they can't do that for Peter Parker.
Also, I've been thinking about how both movies have hit the ground running: Homecoming with the introduction of the Adrian Toomes, and Far From Home with Mysterio's Sandman fake out in Mexico. Maybe this movie starts with a different fake out of sorts, where you see someone taking out a group of civilian employees with a ton of brutality. It's going to look as if they're introducing a villain in the opening scene like the first two MCU Spider-Man movies. The setting is indoors, so it could be a museum or maybe like a fancy corporate HQ. So these guys get laid out, and you see the mystery guy attempt to break into a vault, but his gear is malfunctioning. A small explosive fails to get the job done or shorts out or something. Then, we see an older, friendly security guard type wake up and try to trip an alarm. Our mystery guy whips around (precognitive reaction) and shoots a web to immobilize the security guard. He then impatiently rips the vault off its hinges, quickly webs the McGuffin to himself, and then webzips through a skyroof. Enter Kraven and some more goons. They look up, and we see the title card.
What do you guys think? Just having some fun here.

I'd love that as an opening. If we do in fact get Kraven, then we've had 4 Sinister Six members (Vulture, Shocker, Kraven. Mysterio) and we've had Prowler , Chameleon and Scorpion appear in civilian form. I could definitely see Spiderman 4 or 5 being Spiderman v Sinister Six

Sony/MCU's Spider-Man 3 to bring back Jamie Foxx's Electro screenrant.com/spiderman-3-mcu-movie-villain-jamie-foxx-electro/Well, that was unexpected... what the hell are they going to do with this movie any way? Don't get me wrong, Jamie Foxx is very talented, and I was super hyped to see what he'd do with the character BEFORE the movie came out. However... his version of the character left a lot to be desired. Do we blame the studio? Marc Webb? The writers? Jamie Foxx himself? All I know is, the man really believed in his version of the character, and I was really underwhelmed with just about every part of the final product (except the special effects, but he had nothing to do with that). So many questions. Is he playing a new version of the character in the same way that JK Simmons is playing a different version of Jameson? Hopefully he is, because the TSSM 2 version of the character would stick out like a sore thumb. Edit: Semi Update I want to be optimistic about this, but connecting TASM 2 to anything going forward is going to scare me until I start seeing more evidence to the contrary.

This is an interesting decision. Foxx is talented though, so maybe this will be his chance for redemption.

www.comicbookmovie.com/spider-man/spider-man_3_2021/spider-man-3-kevin-feiges-notes-on-the-amazing-spider-man-2-reveal-that-he-loved-jamie-foxxs-electro-a178877#gs.hpjc9vApparently Kevin Feige liked Foxx's take on Electro. That worries me. Feige is my dude, I'm actually looking into getting an Obama styled "Hope" poster with Kevin Feige's face on it (circa 2008). With all do respect tho, I just don't understand how. If we can take the confident and mean side of his Electro, I'm down with that. If we take that in a vacuum it's actually really menacing. They totally need to rework his psychology and personality tho. No more frying fools because they forgot his birthday, or couldn't remember his name. No more "I want to control the city". In the comics it works, but if they're going to give God level powers to him they need to give him better motivations.

I read that too. There were hints of potential in this movie, and even in Foxx's portrayal. The SDCC presentation in 2013 was magnificent. They shared this:
Gotta say, that rendition of the main theme from the 2012 film is great, and it deserved screen time (wasn't even used in the end). They also did a great panel with Andrew Garfield and Jamie Foxx on deck. In my post above, it may have seemed a bit random for me to say that I wanted Jamie Foxx to bring "that kind of energy" to the role. To clarify, in the article I linked above, Foxx said "Let's run it back Spidey", which reminded me of the early interviews they did for TASM 2. To provide some context, I was lucky enough to be in Hall H in 2013 for the TASM 2 panel. In that presentation, we were allowed to take a peek behind the curtain before the movie was hacked to shreds, when everyone on board was super excited about what they were creating. In that interview, Foxx presented his character as this guy with a huge chip on his shoulder and he really sold the grudge against Spider-Man. At the time, we didn't really know what motivations they were going to give to his character, but he sold the "beef".
Any fight fans out there will know when "beef" is being manufactured vs. when we're getting a real grudge match. Grudge matches are fun to watch. In film, we want our villains to have compelling reasons for doing what they are doing, and if it's not grandiose, it should at least feel personal. Foxx sold that. In a recent interview, he said that he wouldn't be "blue" in this one, which leads me to believe this isn't the same version of the character. Not that I wouldn't want him to eventually become that ultra charged up version of the character, on the contrary. I just want to be able to take him seriously. So, yes, bring back Mr.Foxx, with more of this type of energy and a retooled look:
Last thing I'll say for now is, I did like what they were going for with his look. Not as much as I like Dr. Manhattan's look from both Snyder's and HBO's Watchmen series (that's obviously the most natural comparison) but I appreciate that they didn't shy away from the God level powers and gave him a look that matched. They almost executed the design for sure, or at least, IMO. At some point if he ever does get to be this version again further down the road, I hope they don't nerf him.
