I don't want to follow this bigger is better mentality, but the prospect of getting Marvel's "biggest movie ever" is pretty exciting. Hopefully Joss does something nice with this. I still love Avengers, but I really want to be "wowed" with this one. I'm going to comic con again this year and I'll be camping out for the Marvel Studios panel (and possibly the Batman v. Superman panel as well assuming they'll both be on Saturday). Here's to hoping they've got some really kick ass footage to blow people out of the water with.

Marvel panel: All the major players are there except for Scarlett. Downey Jr. threw roses to the crowd: Q&A session, probably the most interesting thing was Olsen getting booed from mentioning mutants. Scarlett had a short video message. Footage: It's the Avengers, hanging out together. They're out of costumes and all trying to lift Thor's hammer. Tony can't do it , even with help from his Iron-Man hand and War Machine. Banner fails to lift it but Cap moves it a little. Ultron interupts them. "There's only one path to peace, Your extinction!". Shots of Black Widow in a new suit. Banner in a straightjacket. "It's the end, The end of the path I started us on.": Stark. Hulkbuster, Stark and Hulk fighting. "Look," says Ultron, "No string on me". Tony in a wasteland. All the Avengers are lying, bruised and beaten before him. Ends. Downey Jr. "We have a Thanos". Josh Brolin comes on stage wearing the Infinity Gauntlet! Brolin demands a rose, Downey Jr. gives him a rose and he eats it. Cast exits. Gunn and Pratt (on the screen) announce GOTG 2! July 28, 2017. That's it.

I'm still exhausted. We stayed in San Diego until noon, and then drove for over 6 hours straight to get back home. I'll keep it brief for now, since we already have a footage description. The material shown looked completed (if it's not finished, then damn because I can't tell what needs finishing), and it's gorgeous. The new cinematographer seems to have brought a completely different visual aesthetic to the entire movie. While the first Avengers had television quality camera work*, this one looks much more cinematic. I'm talking in league with Zack Snyder's work, or Michael Bay if he were to show a little restraint. It looks gorgeous, and I think you'll all really dig the coloring of the film too. The Hulk Buster suit is utterly incredible, and the new Iron Man armor is a total hot rod compared to his older ones. It looks absolutely gorgeous. That's all I got for now. There's more footage to describe, stuff that I haven't seen mentioned in the few online write-ups I've come across so far. So when I'm more rested I'll come back and either add stuff to the pot or answer questions or something.
*can we even use that as a critique these days?

Official plot synopsis: www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=55547When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure. The "dormant peacekeeping program" is the part that sticks out to me. This could be their way of making Ultron still a creation of Hank Pym.
