I think this could be a new trend. Ultron singing Disney classics! "You'll be in my heart." (Tarzan) "Hi ho. Hi ho. It's off to work we go." (Snow White) "Somehow I'll make a man out of you." (Mulan) *incoming wall of text* Oh God, of all those I think Mulan's quote is the scariest. Anyone else love how the voice sounds a bit different in the extended trailer? I will say that the party scene has been clipped a little. They skipped out on Ruffalo trying to lift the hammer, cut out some of Cap struggling, and the part where the Ultron bots bust through the walls. I'm only detailing this because descriptions have been posted months ago on this thread. All in all, I'm very happy this footage was released. It's crazy how Marvel has laid their game plan out there. Avengers 2 is the culmination of phase 2, and yet it feels like it's just the tip of the iceberg. That's probably the intention I suppose, but I have a feeling like it's going to operate really well as a solo film and it's sort of surreal to have the film introduced as sort of a jumping off point. It's a very inverted feeling from the phase 1 intention, though 2012's Avengers proved to bust the hinges from the door in terms of Marvel's cosmic stuff.

Another version of the extended trailer:
What happened to the jet backpack? Iron Man is so much more badass with it.

Full look at Iron Man's armor: I always like it when there's silver in the armor. Reminds me of the Ultimate armor.

This is totally random, but I was thinking about Iron Man and what he's going to be bringing to the table this time around, aside from problems. Instantly, the fact that the new armor looks like a recolored Mark 42 came to mind, and it has me wondering: what aspects has Tony kept from the Iron Man 3 suit, and what aspects has he scrapped? Perhaps for example, he has solved the issue with materials and melting. Some have said that his suits may have been designed as "one and done" suits, meant to be disposable, or not built as sturdy as his first 5. I'm not entirely sure that that was the case though, as Killian showed he could have very easily destroyed the Iron Patriot suit (or the Mark 2) had he not intended to use it to capture President Ellis. That aside, what might we see this time around? I'm hoping we get an armor that's closer to the Extremis suit in the comics, if not in aesthetic, at least in ability. As the threat levels increase in these movies, Tony is a character who is going to adapt his suits to protect the people and himself. His drone program obviously isn't going to last past this next Avengers movie. Truth is, I was a little let down by the way that Shane Black did the action in Iron Man 3, so I'm looking forward to that cool suit concept being better realized.

Looks sick! Though I much prefer the first trailer.

While I do prefer the first trailer, the fight choreography in this seems to take this franchise to the next level. I enjoyed what they showed of Ultron vs. Thor as well. For all we know, the two aren't even in the same scene as it was shown here, but wouldn't it be awesome if Marvel Studios finally showed how powerful the character really is? To have Ultron unleash this insane death ray, only to have Thor shrug it off and return the favor. I also really appreciate the fact that nothing new was shown really. It'll be unfortunate if they completely spoil the Hulkbuster vs. Hulk fight, but saving Ultron transformations, Vision, Hawkeye, and all that other stuff would be nice for a change in marketing. This movie is ripe for a good viral campaign, I say go that route. It's not as though Disney really needs to spend a ton of money on making sure Avengers commercials are on every station 24/7.

I mean it does what it has to do... It reminds everyone (regardless of their familiarity with the MCU) that the movie's coming out soon, and let's face it, people will watch it no matter how ugly and generic their poster is.

Erm, yeah. I'm not sure how I feel about that but, it's certainly doing what it's trying to do.

The character posters are slightly better I guess. Big news coming in a few days, maybe a new trailer? My money is on it being something not Avengers though.
Funny thing about this movie is, I want to be excited for the action, but I'm afraid that I'll end up disappointed in that regard. Joss Whedon action is alright, but it's not like gearing up to see a Guy Ritchie action film, or a Matthew Vaughn or Zack Snyder action film. Characterization is probably the highest on my priorities list, so I'm happy with Joss, but I hope he really ramped up what he's doing in terms of action this time out. After Man of Steel and Winter Soldier, I want don't want to go back to seeing average looking action. Fun as the first Avengers was. There was an interview that was published recently with Chris Hemsworth's Thor, and he talks about this battle he'll be having in the movie. He says they're pushing his powers further this time out as part of his progression, but considering that Thor is supposed to be God like to us, I'd like to feel a sense of wonder when he's on screen. Not just fun, but wonder.
I felt that when watching Man of Steel for Supes, and for completely different reasons when watching Guardians. Marvel is capable of being able to evoke that in their films, but I don't know. Here's hoping that the man outdoes himself. Word is that he threw something crazy big out there for the finale, and no one told him no, so that'll be interesting. Hopefully it's not a George Lucas situation.
